Also, adopt standard words for spelling out difficult words. "I" as in "information", or "N" as in "nuance" are just as hard to parse. (Exaggerating here to make the point.)

One of the only decent practices one of my former workplaces had was requiring all the call staff to learn and use the NATO phonetic alphabet. None of this "A as in apple" crap.
 
Second conference call about "change to X", and here's the results: we may or may not be making a change to X, if we do make a change it'll be adding something --we're not sure what-- to X, we're not sure when it should happen, we don't know who can identify the things we want to add if we do decide to add anything. Third call will happen at undetermined time in future, with parties unknown, to continue discussion.

Oh, and when do you think this will be done, TM? I really can't say, can I?
 
I have a "sadist's" phonetic alphabet on another device. A for aisle, b for Bdellium. I'll try to find it.

You need to tell them to hire some consultants.

You can't say? In that case we'd best have daily status update meetings to ensure we're on track.
