You only have to see how Lt.Col. Alex Vindman was treated to see what happened to you when you told a truth that conflicted with Trump's lies, not to mention the death threats he and his brother received, as well as death threats against everyone from the lowest election workers to highly ranked election officials such as Brad Raffensperger and Gabriel Sterling

The difference is that Barr and some other top officials had already resigned, and after the election everyone who worked for Trump knew they would be out in a matter of weeks. Barr, in particular, had his own power base as a long-time prominent conservative and former official in the Reagan and Bush administrations. If Barr, Pence and some others had held a joint press conference in December, after the states had certified their election results, denouncing the "stop the steal" lies, they could have shut it all down. And what could Trump do except splutter?

Okay, that's just absurd. Trump has never needed more than bald-faced lies to inflame his supporters. The idea that any group of people could have "held a joint press conference" and accomplished anything substantive in this regard is a flight of absolute fancy.

Only one person could have made a difference and he wanted to be president for life.

Good grief, that

Judge Luttig

is

just about

impossible

to

listen to.

I think he took a hint from the way Johnny Depp testified.

Judge Luttig being interviewed in today's hearing is talking bizarrely slow with a pause after every couple of words.

If it was a usual hearing one might think it was to use up the opposition legislators' 5 minutes to interview the witness. But that isn't the case here.

I don't agree. Trump's lies took hold in part because there were no prominent Repubs pushing back. What Trump was claiming was nonsense, but people around him weren't saying so. If respected conservatives had said "This is not the way our government works," many would have listened.

Sounds like he's trying to be precise, choosing his words carefully, maybe too carefully.

Today's testimony is so totally and completely damning of Trump and Eastman that anyone who still supports Trump is beyond stupid. But sadly, I don't think Trump will ever face any consequences for his actions and the GOP will continue to kiss Trump's ass. Disgusting.

Eastman also needs to face legal consequences and not just disbarment. What a POS he is.

Sounds like they are summing up. Not much new in this hearing.

ETA: Oh dear they are back to the snail speaker Luttig. Lots of thoughts and prayers coming from Pence's inner circle.

That's going to split a few Evangelicals, do they support Democrats that might be pro-choice, or Drumpf's anti-choice folks.

Most of what was said was already known, but to have it put in such a clear and orderly presentation and to hear directly by those involved was excellent.

I just saw several tweets that said Judge Luttig should be played by William Shatner in the movie. So many that it's Trending.

She now claims she is willing to testify. I'll believe it when I see it.

Despite her legal background, I wonder how much experience she has with being grilled by trial attorneys. She just might be stupid or proud enough to think she can defend herself.

Considering her emails, I'm going with stupid.

I bet she believes she can go and expose voter fraud. And I also bet her husband is going to throw a tantrum over it.
