Former trump Attorney General William Barr laughed at the movie, "2000 Mules." He told the House panel-

Moviemaker Dinesh D’Souza reacted to Barr's testimony by saying, "The level of ignorance displayed by Bill Barr here is truly stunning."

"Bill Barr is the stereotypical small-town sheriff, overweight and largely immobile, whose rank incompetence results in the whole town being robbed from under his nose. Then, asked to explain how it happened, Fatso breaks into laughter and insists the robbery itself is ********'", he wrote in a separate tweet.

Classic Trumpista projection... "I'm not the puppet, you're the puppet"

What gives me perhaps the most hope for future sanity in US political life is the fact that Republicans systematically destroy their very Best and Brightest for not being sufficiently ideologically "sound".
Romney is a smart guy, Barr is a brilliant right-wing activist, Liz Cheney is a one-woman army, etc. etc.
Ted Cruz might be the most intelligent person in Congress, but like so many others, he can only play dumb if he wants to get re-elected.

As the Trump Years have shown, Incompetence is often the only saving grace of autocrats.

I have seen some excerpts of 2000 Mules, and what I have seen is a load of dingo's kidneys.

1. They claim that 5G locates a cellphone to within 12-18 inches
- Rubbish: 5G is only accurate to within 35 feet (10 metres)
- Irrelevant: 5G was not fully rolled out by the time of the 2020 election anyway

2. They claimed the average number of visits by a "mule" to a drop box was 38.
- None of the surveillance videos in the movie showed the same person more than once.

3. They claimed that a woman wearing a face mask (to hide her identity :eye-poppi) and gloves (because fingerprints :eye-poppi) seen posting a ballot, is a "mule" because she put her gloves in a nearby bin and didn't look at the bin because she knew it was there.
- This is typical of what these morons call "evidence". Of course the 2020 election was taking place in the middle of a pandemic. The woman was most likely wearing gloves and face mask as a personal protective measure against COVID-19

4. They claimed that two men in separate locations taking photos of themselves posting their ballot, was to provide evidence of the job done so the "mules" can get paid.
- no, seriously they are actually claiming this. Of course, ballot selfies are not uncommon
https://cheddar.com/media/voter-ballot-selfie-state-law-2020

5. They claim that in surveillance footage from Georgia, people were "mules" because they were seen posting more than one ballot, is proof of voter fraud.
- No it isn't. The posting of completed ballots on behalf of a third party, is legal in several states, including Georgia! What about people posting ballots for the families or sick friend, or a wheelchair bound neighbour. Rest home staff often post ballots for residents who are not very mobile.

6. They claim they have uncovered the potential existence of 380,000 fraudulent ballots, with falsified votes for Joe Biden
- here is what you have to do to forge a ballot
a. Obtain a falsified ballot with a unique bar code, printed on special paper, and a special envelope to go with it.
b. Successfully forge the voter’s signature.
c. Deposit the envelope and have it validated by a local official.
d. You have now committed a felony and cast one fraudulent ballot.
e. Rinse and repeat 379,999 times - each time under a different name with a different signature, spread over different jurisdictions, with different ballot styles and different voting materials. Where are you going to get these other 379,999 fraudulent ballot papers?
If there are 380,000 people who had their ballot collected and returned for nefarious reasons, there should be significant numbers of people willing to tell their story. It is hard for two people to keep a secret. Asserting that 380,000 people are keeping a secret is beyond credibility.

And all this, all of the above I have written. Well, that's just for starters!

Former Attorney General William Barr says the premise of D’Souza's movie, "2000 Mules," that if people are 5G-tracked walking past ballot boxes five times then they are by definition ballot mules is insupportable. D’Souza responds by calling Barr names.

Can this get any more stupid? :(

D'Souza loves Barr for the publicity he provides. Baiting someone with actual gravitas to acknowledge your existence is all these grifters want.

I think you mean emblematic of the modern republican party.

  1. It’s worse in city areas with tall buildings, occasionally just bonkers wrong.
  2. This claim is even more stupid when you consider that drop boxes are placed in convenient, high-traffic areas where it is very likely that many people might pass within 35 feet of one on a regular basis with no nefarious purpose. How many of them where classified as “mules” due to their weekly or monthly routine, I wonder?

It's more convincing if you play it to spooky music while reading this.

IMO, "2000 Mules" is to 2020 election fraud conspiracy what "Did We Land on the Moon?" is to Moon Landing Hoax conspiracy... I'll-informed, ignorant morons seeing things that aren't there because they lack the knowledge or experience to understand what they are looking at.

Exactly.

One of the many things that I found so weird about Barr was how he testified that after the election, Trump was "detached from reality" and that is one of the reasons why Barr resigned as Attorney General.

However, Barr did not try to invoke the 25th amendment when he had a chance to do so, and later on, Barr stated the he would vote for Trump if Trump runs for office again.

As I result, I find Barr to be just another stupid, idiotic, lying, opportunistic, worthless, disgusting, Trump ass kissing Republican.

Not one of these Republican witnesses said a thing publicly at the time. They were complicit, hoping to see if the Big Lie would work.

And it will work. None of them will face any meaningful consquences.

And beyond Constitutionality, beyond legality, hell beyond what we are usually talking about when we are talking about "morality" there is nothing more basic than "Behavior will not change if there are no negative consequences to it."

I agree. I personally think Ford set a terrible precedent with Nixon's preemptive pardon.

And Trump's continuing tactic to delay, and the courts' desire to settle, means there are no negative consequences.

Sorry I misunderstood you.
I think the gop made a fatal mistake, back in 2009, when, in the wake of the Obama victory, they panicked and embraced the far right, which they had keeps at arms length before then. They thought they could somehow control the extremists and somehow use them, then push them to the side when they were no longet useful, Instead, the extremists took over.
Not the first time that had happened. Making a deal with extremists have never really worked well for those making the deal.

Anybody who recalls the GOP jump from Goldwater in 1964 to Nixonin 1968 can see how quickly a party can change direction, capture the middle. At the time many doubted the sincerity of Nixon's more centrist platform planks. But there isn't any question that he pulled the GOP back from the ledge.

He's the guy who said, "You have to be for something."
