I have split some of the discussion about whether the Jan 6th committee is too partisan to another thread

Is the Jan 6th committee too partisan?

I wonder which people in Trump's orbit were hanging out with Proud Boys and Oath Keepers? (I presume this is who Schiff is talking about, or are there more?)

Roger Stone would be one. He has a confirmed connection with both the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers...

Why?

Stone has been Trump's mentor and pal since the days of Trump Senior. No non-family member is closer to Trump than him, especially since Cohen jumped ship.

But it won't come as a surprise to anyone. It's not like this would be a shocking revelation, based on Stone's history.

It could be any Constitutionalist Libertarian close to Trump, because that's where the Oath Keepers and proud Boys draw their membership from.
 
45 minutes late! How dare a witness' wife go into labor at a time like this!

(CNN) - Former Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien will no longer appear before the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol on Monday due to a family emergency, the committee announced in a release.

Stepien's wife went into labor, a source familiar with the matter tells CNN, which led the committee to release him from his subpoena for the day.

In his place, Stepien's lawyer will appear before the committee and make a statement.

Trump could tell a crowd of 5000 supporters "I am scamming you. I am taking your money, putting it in my pocket, and leaving with it without giving you anything. You are a bunch of gullible fools who exist to be taken advantage of by me." and every one of them would be certain that he was talking to the other 4999 people, not them.

Donating to Trump is the same as giving money to a Prosperity Preacher - the point is not to help Trump accomplish his Mission (as a supposed billionaire, he wouldn't need any), but to plant a "seed" by buying a share of Trump's triumphant success in Making America Great Again.
It's a tithe, not a donation.

So, here's what we learned about election night 2020 at the White House from today's hearing: a) Former New York City Mayior Rudy Giuliani showed up at the White House wanting to talk to Trump b) Giuliani was, according to Miller, drunk c) Giuliani did wind up speaking to the President, a conversation in which he said Trump should declare victory -- which the President then did. Amazing. Stunning.

We already saw the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys together in a pre-Jan 6 planning meeting. I believe that was new.

And Rhodes tried to call Drumpf on the 6th but he wouldn't take the call. It does suggest Rhodes had Drumpf's phone number. That was new.

And on Thur we saw that Drumpf telling the Proud Boys to stand by resulted in their membership going up 30% according to one of their leaders. That was new.

And there was this which wasn't new but it did get driven home:

Rhodes and Tarrio have pleaded not guilty to seditious conspiracy and other charges and have denied any wrongdoing.
Rhodes' attorneys said the Oath Keepers were planning to provide security for the group Latinos for Trump who were holding an event that day.

The committee told a different story.

Marcus Childress, the Investigative Counsel for the committee said during the video presentation, "The committee learned the Oath Keepers set up quick reaction forces outside of the city in Virginia where they stored arms. The goal of the quick reaction forces was to be on standby just in case President Trump invoked the insurrection act."...

In court documents in the Wilson case, prosecutors said in the late afternoon on Jan. 6, Rhodes called an individual over speaker phone. "Wilson heard Rhodes repeatedly implore the individual to tell President Trump to call upon groups like the Oath Keepers to forcibly oppose the transfer of power. This individual denied Rhodes' request to speak directly with President Trump."

Apparently this call has been denied by Rhodes.



As for Drumpf ripping his donors off, that is not new. They mostly chalk it up to fake news.
