Fox is was and always will be a Propaganda Channel pushing an agenda, for Profits, you stand in the way of that profit, they will do what they can to hurt you, and they have tons of Brain washed idiots to help them get that done.
I learned that the hard way, but who cares been trying to tell people that, but they either laugh at me or want me dead so it's just pointless any more.

You're a better person than I am. I cannot navigate a shared space with someone who thinks my reptillian overlords are telling me to eat babies and that mind control fake meat is grown in a peach tree dish. I don't see common ground, I only see enemies these days. That is what I see in people like that now. Someone who would happily vote away a woman's right to choose while preaching about Jeebus and Jewish space lasers is not someone that I want to make feel welcome.

I think we are beyond treating these people like normal, productive members of society. They need to be excised from the body politic at the ballot box. They need to be voted into oblivion.

I have members of my own Family Cousins who have told me, I need to be executed for Treason because I don't buy into the Racist Replacement Theory and Fox Fraud News Lies.
 
Growing up I was always puzzled, genuinely baffled, at how things like the Holocaust could have happened. Where were the decent people? The figurative and literal distance between my life and those events of the past created this sort of impenetrable membrane that rendered any understanding more abstract than enlightening.

Even majoring in History for my undergrad still left me flailing to more firmly grasp a better understanding. I always thought that Humanity was better than that and that surely something truly extraordinary must have happened that I will never truly understand.

I think I understand better now--people suck.

It's no distance at all. Remember those border camps Trump set up to hold the children of captured migrants, that are still active? Those are literal concentration camps. What should the decent people of today be doing about it?

A federal judge Tuesday ordered John Eastman — the attorney who developed former President Donald Trump’s last-ditch strategy to overturn the election — to disclose a batch of 159 sensitive documents to the Jan. 6 select committee, including another email that the judge said presented evidence of a likely crime.

In a 26-page ruling, U.S. District Court Judge David Carter also ordered Eastman to provide 10 documents about meetings Eastman held with a secretive pro-Trump group that included a “high-profile” leader discussing strategies for overturning the 2020 election.

The fake Electors and the Violence are separate issues that come, from one Point of origin the Lie the Election was stolen, they were hoping for a battle between antifa, BLM, and Trump Supporter, but the Minute Trump made his January 6th announcement. I was telling everyone I could not too go counter protest. WE could have had a Civil War start right then and there.

That Obama set up, in point of fact. Also, what's the alternative? Are you saying that children should go to jail with their parents to await trial?

Should the sins of the fathers pass down to the children? Should we apply that to other crimes? Maybe when bank robbers are arrested, if they're a single parent, their children be incarcerated with them instead of going into the foster system?

I'm pretty sure that's not what anyone is saying. I, at least, really dislike the awful treatment they've received. You remember the reports of sexual assault, death, and forced sterilization right? Maybe we just want them to be treated like human beings?

Sorta invokes the party differences on the overall subject.

Democrats and Republicans are both strongly in favor of border security. Democrats want it to function efficiently, effectively, and humanely. Republicans have made it pretty clear that efficient and humane aren't really a concern for them lately and that effective is frequently of less real value than simple and flashy.

Given these differences in values, when Democrats have offered criticisms about inefficient, inhumane, and/or questionably effective efforts, Republicans seem to love seizing upon such to feed false narratives like "Democrats want open borders." With that said, it's also distinctly misguided to treat Obama policy regarding those faculties that cmikes can actually be referring to as if it were the same as Trump policy. There are a bunch of significant differences that are better not delved into in this thread.

I think you’re referring to my comment a few posts above. If so, you misunderstand. Nothing in what I wrote argues for considering fascists, say, as normal people. It’s just we share our community with them, and we will continue to do so, so we have to be clear eyed about what our strategy is and not just revert to “how horrible or stupid” they are.

Never underestimate the power of racism and bigotry. The Republicans are absolutely terrified of losing power to people who don't look or think like them.

You watch what has happened, and is happening with the Republican Party, and with Trump and the people around him... because that will tell you why things like the Holocaust happen. Always remember, it was a very small minority of people who supported the NSDAP (Nazi Party). It took them 13 years, but they eventually came to power, and with a minority as well!

This is why Republicans are furiously trying to disenfranchise the demographics of voters who are less likely to vote Democrat.

This is why they are gerrymandering the hell out of states, to make sure that most Democrat voters are shoehorned into a smaller number of districts with huge majorities while Republican voters have small majorities in a larger number of districts

This is why Trump and his minions keep trumpeting the Josef Goebbels style "Big Lie", repeating it over and over as loud as they can.

I will say right now, a number of people on this forum, including me, warned y'all back in 2017, that if Trump lost the 2020 election, he would do everything he could to not leave the White House. He would cheat, lie, break laws and claim election fraud. We were roundly mocked for saying that, but our predictions didn't look so outrageous by January 6 did they?

And Trump almost succeeded. Over the next few days of the public January 6 hearings, y'all are going to find out just how close the conspirators came to overturning the election, and installing Der Trumpenführer into power as your Dear Leader - an Autocratic Dictator.

2020 was a shakedown run to iron out the flaws. They know what went wrong now and they won't make the same mistakes again. Trump will put in place loyalists of the ilk of Mike Flynn, Scott Perry et al well ahead of time, to stop the military, the DoJ, and Homeland Security from interfering. He will pick a running mate that is like-minded - a dedicated arse-licker that he can absolutely count on to do his bidding - someone like Mark Meadows or Jim Jordan.

If Trump wins the 2024 election, it will be your last.

I think that the 2024 election will get pretty ugly. The GOP has put a lot of time and effort into ensuring that even if swing states end up with a majority for the Democratic Party candidate, the state will be declared for Donald Trump, or whoever the Republican Party candidate is.

They'll go through the ballots with a fine toothed comb and throw out as many Democratic votes as are necessary for spurious reasons - especially postal votes where any mark on the envelope acquired during transit will be taken as evidence of tampering.

Of course before then they will have purged the voter rolls and, in the process, disenfranchised hundreds of thousands of likely Democratic Party voters and made it as difficult as possible for those who remain on the rolls to actually cast their vote.

It will be DeSantis. He's already proven to be an authoritarian which the right loves, so they'll pile on the bandwagon.
