I would hate to miss it, but I wouldn't want to mess up the chance for you to have her throw herself at you afterward saying, "WOW! You were such a stud up there giving that talk! Let's go up to our room, I NEED YOU NOW LECTURE BOY!!!!"

"The Wheel of Time" is a series of fantasy novels, in which a woman named Aviendha* is a main character. She´s an Aiel; Aiel are desert nomads who are known as extremely fierce warriors. And the Maidens of the Spear, a community of female warriors among the Aiel, to which Aviendha belonged for part of the series, are even more fearsome than their male counterparts. And Aviendha became a Wise Woman - a sorceress.
So maybe you should think twice about challenging her. Nobody messes with that woman and lives to tell about it. ;)

*You did know that the username of Fowlsound´s fiance is Aviendha, right?
 
I resemble one of the two people in the picture to the left.
 
Sounds cool. Maybe I'll have to try reading that series sometime. My love of science fiction TV show already makes me nerdy enough, though...

Aviendha is a beautiful name. I knew she was Fowlsound's fiance, but I didn't know where her name came from.

Aviendha vs. Ironwoman.... has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Hmm, well, I just tried to post my picture in the reply, but there are some rules and parameters in place that prevent me from doing so. No matter! I just put the picture as my profile image and, voila! :)

Looking forward to attending TAM4 with the boyfriend in Vegas! Yay!

Edit -- Bah. This newbie posting holding pattern is vexing. Oh well. Guess you'll just have to find me in Vegas!

Sample dialogue:
"Are you Allison?" No? Ah, okay. *Ahem* Excuse me? Are you Allison? No? Damn!"

This could've been avoided if I was allowed to post a picture. ;)
