emptyg is really unbelievable. Once again her memory failed her when she was under oath.
In a Georgia courtroom on Friday, Greene had been shown a video of an interview she gave to Newsmax the day before the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Greene said she did not remember speaking to the outlet, a tactic she used many times when confronted on the stand with records of her past statements. “This is our 1776 moment,” she told the Newsmax host in the clip, saying that specific sentiment was shared by many of her GOP colleagues. For people like her, "faith" refers to self-serving delusion, "families" refers to exclusionary bigotry, and "freedoms" refers to the freedom to lie, cheat, and steal without consequence. How dare the left interfere with that?

I actually considered emailing Greene's office to register a complaint. I was thinking about writing, as a longtime registered Democrat, somewhat involved with the local party (I've attended a few meetings and even asked a question or two!), I resent your making these kinds of accusations, which I consider to be baseless but not harmless. This kind of rhetoric separates people, drives people apart. We're fellow Americans; we're not your enemies. There is no organized plan by the Democratic Party to destroy people's faith, destroy their families or take away their freedoms. Ms. Green we are basically the same as you. We have beliefs, we have families and we value our freedom. We respect other people's beliefs, families and freedoms and we expect other people to respect ours. But you're not respecting our rights when you continue to label us in this way.

I thought about it but soon concluded it would be a waste of time.

  • First, I'm not sure Greene (or one of her staff) would bother to respond.
  • Second, I wonder who they might distribute my email address to.
  • Third, if someone on her staff DID reply I'm sure it would just be more of the typical blather.
How the Democratic Party may not be deliberately trying to destroy families or take away their freedoms, but in pursuing their agenda it will have that result. Supporting illegal Immigration, appointing defenders of pedophilia to the Supreme Court, inflating gas prices and the cost of living, yadda, yadda, yadda.

They would probably send protesters to your home to harass you, and smear you all over social media.

They're the real danger. They have every intention of destroying democracy. And if they succeed, it's only a matter of time before they destroy themselves as well.
 
She sounds a lot like Joseph Goebbels speaking in Nuremburg in 1935:

"During the NSDAP new formation of European enlightened culture, we'll declare war on Bolshevism and international Judaism, the anti-middle class, anti-cultural. Nazis are trying to build new culture. Jews are against culture itself....It means the destruction of all economies, social and civilized achievements.... Behind all this is the international conspiracy, representing the Jews."

Just switch out Bolshevism for Democrats, Jews for liberals and 'anti-middle class, anti-cultural' for anti-Christian, anti-freedom, and anti-family.

I note that a number of my more liberal friends are changing their minds about gun ownership since the rise of the militant right.

I doubt that would be the case if the militant right didn't have an arsenal of weapons at their disposal.

It may not make a lot of sense, but it sort of depends on what cataclysms you expect. Even if it's not a good idea, there's a difference between offense and defense, and I haven't heard any left wing equivalents of the hunt and kill rhetoric we see from nutters like Boebert and Greene.

In the minds of crackpots like her, the realm of possibilities includes outlawing the left. Other options include exiling them or sending them to reeducation camps or even to labor camps where they can make things to help pay for the terrible damage they have done to America.

And of course implementing these solutions will require many of the left to be shot.

And these nut jobs believe that this brave new world will be free from LGBTQ+ folks because the children of Christian heterosexuals will never be indoctrinated into those sinners’ wicked, wicked ways. [spoiler alert: homosexuality pops up in even the very best families because it is not about indoctrination]

But in their utopia they'll be free to torture people until they stop acting homosexual ... I mean, they'll be free to utilize the entirely legitimate practice of conversion therapy.
 
While my previous post sounds (and actually may be) over the top, it is important to remember that some Dominionists believe that to return the USA to its original Christian status (yes, I know, I know), laws must be changed so that only Christians can vote. And it almost goes without saying, only the right kind of Christians can vote.

From what I’ve been reading, opinion is split on this issue. While some would agree with the position you describe, others offer the Old Testament as evidence that the homosexuals (along with witches and adulterers) must be executed.


Oh, I just realized how much CO2 will be released when they have the book burnings to get rid of the forbidden books and pornography.
