New telepathy test, the sequel.

Skeptics have an unfortunate tendency to try to sabotage good tests by giving terrible "advice".

No. Skeptics are showing you the proper way to conduct such research, since they are experienced in it and you are not. You are clearly trying to stack the deck, and have managed to convince yourself (but no one else) that such deck-stacking is some sort of novel method that you should be given credit for.

You simply don't know how to do science properly in this field.

What would you do to catch people out if you thought they all heard your thoughts but were conspiring not to let on?

I think I might try recording some serious public event on live TV while watching a really funny movie or standup comedy act. Then check the recording to look for unsuppressed smirking or outright laughter. (The same would work in reverse for a happy, cheerful occasion while I watched a sad weepie movie.)

It would be a whole lot easier than trying to glean info from a paltry number of replies to a multiple choice quiz when most people give joke replies anyway.

I'd just check if my bank account(s) were constantly being emptied.

Does any of you have any idea about what p0lka's odd post:
Well p and s add up to 27, that's got to mean something yeah.

edit: sorry just watched 'the number 23' with jim carey for the first time, love it, but yeah numbers.
might mean? (it was made about 4 days ago, about 10 hours after I posted my new "2022, Russia, attacked, Ukraine" test).

This is probably one of the strangest messages ever posted on this forum (and it doesn't have the violent aggressivity often displayed by some in this thread).

It was edited after 2 minutes (which suggests some care) and was a reply to this post by Cosmic Yak:
Would these supposed telepathic waves travel through the earth, or somehow bend to follow the curve of the surface?

Jack by the hedge replied to this post by p0lka about 20 minutes later:
Please be aware that Michel will assign meaning to anything you say like this. Even if you are obviously joking, Michel will either not recognise that you are joking or will decide that although you might believe it was a joke you were really responding to some subconscious telepathic effect. There is no limit to the degree of word-twisting available.
So, apparently, Jack by the hedge saw a possibility that I might assign a meaning to p0lka's post (p0lka himself or herself had said "that's got to mean something yeah").

But what could this meaning be?

I can supply a partial answer: I didn't understand whatever the post was referring to, I merely noted that it resembled a joking reference to something or other (which I couldn't identify) and I thought it worth pointing out that these threads have something of a history of your assigning some meaning to a joke post even when the exasperated joker insists they didn't mean that and were *obviously* joking.

I hope that helps.

Looks at watch* Is it already that time where the thread goes in circles before Michel vanishes for a while again?

Time flies

We have to pick one of the four?

You might as well just say ' I'm thinking of a number... it's 1 or it's 2 or it's 3 or it's 4. pick one'

Are the labels you put on the numbers ie '2022' 'russia' 'attacked' and 'ukraine' important?

No. It's especially odd when you consider he has the ability to shorn responses like 'Applesauce' into his 1,2,3,4 answer options.

and made a joke about p and s waves (google that), it wasn't particularly funny but I chuckled to myself.
Go watch the jim carrey movie 'the number 23' for context.

'Jack by the hedge' saw my use of numbers and pointed out that you might not understand the jokey context.

It seems that 'Jack by the hedge' was correct.

edit:
If there was a secret special number it certainly wouldn't be 27 anyway, sharp edges it's not even prime.

Thank you for this post, p0lka (after my request for an explanation).

I think that you did explain something, because it's true that there are seismic waves that are called P-waves (for "primary waves") and S-waves (for "secondary waves"), as explained by wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seismic_wave#Primary_waves.

Note, however, that these seismic waves are very low frequency acoustic (or energy) waves, very different from the high frequency electromagnetic waves which might perhaps explain telepathy.

These p and s waves may have been the beginning of your train of thought, but wasn't there something else that you wanted to say?

Could these p and s letters be related to the word "postscript" for example? (https://www.grammarly.com/blog/what-does-ps-mean/)

You haven't explained why
p and s add up to 27
.
(I think that I have a possible explanation, but some people might perhaps want to say it's crazy)

Please don't stop now. After all, the thread is only 2414 posts long.

Well, p and s actually add up to 35, I got it wrong for comedic effect. It made me chuckle. 35 isn't prime either.

Doggedly overanalysing a joke probably counts as a step forward in this thread, in so far as it suggests initial recognition that there was a joke.
