Trans women are not women (Part 8)

Here's a question: If gender is so mutable, and sex so inscrutable, how come people are so confident the suspect in this incident is man?

https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/multiple-people-shot-in-brooklyn-subway-sources/3641743/

Five-five, wearing a gas mask, no identification of a specific person... Shouldn't the manhunt be gender-neutral at this point?

There's always this interplay between real world likelihoods and ideologically driven desires. At the end of the day, females who commit that sort of violence are so incredibly rare as to be nearly non-existent.

Even if this person identifies as "a woman"... I would take bets that they are in actuality male.

I get that EC and other's claim that transwomen are some unique risk (or just lying men trying to take advantage), but totally erasing that trans men exist and are also benefitting from trans-inclusive policies strikes me as a bit too far. At least, they merit mentioning from time to time.

My wife's best friend's cousin's brother says that's not true.

Personal anecdotes strays into territory where questioning your perception and honesty of events, as well as your motives and biases, is relevant,

You don't like the information you're being given... so you think that a good argument is to insinuate that I'm a ******* liar?

Skeptics forum and all that. The veracity of claims and the reliability of narrators is very much pertinent.

~50% of transwomen UK prisons are there for sexual assault. There are no transmen in UK prisons. I'd call that pretty unique

Again just redefine the two genders as "Rapists" and "Women" and everyone is happy (he says bitterly)

It does strike me that there's really no way to be so intensely paranoid about the motives of trans women without assuming an incredibly misandrist view of the world.

Worth pointing out the forgotten trans man yet again.

Men's spaces are being mixed with trans people in exactly the same way.

Transgender identified females are not a threat to males.

A transman is extraordinarily unlikely to sexually assault a male, or to violate the sexual boundaries of a male, or to rape a male. They're unable to take male spots in athletics. A transman in a male restroom, locker room, or prison is the one at risk, not the males.

If a transman enters a male-only space they are voluntarily putting themselves at risk, they aren't putting the males at risk. If a transwoman enters a female-only space, they are putting all of the females at risk, and facing virtually no risk themselves.

But hey, I'll make you a deal: You show me the data showing that the rate of transmen sexually assaulting males is higher than the average rate of males assaulting males, and I'll start carrying on about males needing to be protected from the likes of Elliot Page too.

....or any other tale, no matter what the source, that says exactly the same thing.

Well yeah, anecdotes are not particularly useful. If this is such a common practice, it should be easy to demonstrate in a way that isn't reliant on 2nd hand anecdotes. Clinics and the like have protocols and best practices which can be examined.

This is false. Transgender identifying males don't present a *unique* risk. They present exactly the same risk as all males do. They're merely demanding a special privilege that lets them violate the expected sex-based boundaries.

On the flip side.. Transgender identifying females present exactly the same risk to males as any other female would... which is essentially none.

Probably worth mentioning that the greatest risk in these contexts are cis-gendered psychos who feel its appropriate to assault or harass trans people for trying to take a piss.

It does strike me that there's really no way to be so intensely paranoid about the motives of trans women without assuming an incredibly misandrist view of the world.

Meanwhile... in the real world... in the US 99% of sexual crimes are committed by males, and 95% of the victims of sexual crimes are females.

Roughly 1 in 5 females in the US has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape. But of those, less than 10% ever even get charged. And at the end of the day, less than 1% of rapists actually go to jail.

Females are extraordinarily the victims of domestic abuse, with the abusers being almost all male.

Every single post-pubescent female I have ever met has been subjected to sexual assault or sexual harassment, much of it routinely.

And this is in the developed world. In other parts of the world, it's much more dramatic and tragic.

But sure, it's all "paranoid" and "misandrist". At least, that's what (some) males have to say about females demanding reasonable boundaries.

Think how bad it would be if it weren't for those little bathroom placards holding back the barbarian hordes.
