Should Ukraine give up?

Lose Donbas, lose Crimea. But they get to keep their military. And Russia needs to sign a peace treaty promising to NEVER invade Ukraine again or they forfeit their permanent UNSC seat and all sanctions currently in place will immediately snap right back.

WHy the hell should Ukraine ever trust Putin again?
We don't need another Munich.Putin must not get anything out of this. he will se it as a Win and then plot another aggresion.
And you will never get Russia to agree to those terms, anyway.

Why do you keep coming up with stupid proposals and then never stick around to discuss them or address the rebuttals?

Russia already promised to respect Ukraine's borders in return for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons.

How did that work out ?

Unless there is a fundamental (and quite frankly unbelievable) change in Russia's leadership and outlook, there's no reason to trust any treaty they ever sign.

Even if Russia pulls out of Ukraine, as long as Putin is in chage there will remain something of a pariah state.

Having massive sanctions snap right back into place if they step on Ukrainian soil again might motivate them to stay away.

Well, I think Russia should give up - their "Blitzkrieg" has bogged down, corruption has obviously corroded their armed forces from inside, the economic sanctions are truly crippling, they are now asking 40 000 Syrians to help them fighting, the administration is starting look shaky and hysterical.

Maybe Russia should give up and save lifes and their economy and that unique way of life under a terroristic dictatorship?

Putin: "Ukraine's military is a threat to Russia because many in Ukraine hate Russia!"
Ukraine: " no, we don't."
Putin: (bombs cities, massacres civilians) " how about now?"
