I'm just waiting for someone to say "see, stop complaining, you could have it so much worse" in reference to gay rights in the US.

Assuming, arguendo, that the US has endorsed torture (which, of course, it has not), under what theory are terrorists subject to the same treatment as gays? The US has endorsed capturing and killing terrorists, a strategy which which I believe you agree. Should gays then be captured and killed?

Mark, are you going to apply the same standard to every non-US citizen that criticized the US? Are you going to tell them they can't criticize us until their own countries are perfect?
