It is proper word salad, isn't it.
I wonder if Bubba's got hold of a conspiracy Bull Bingo card, and is just reading straight off it? :D
As I said upthread, I'm not wasting any time trying to decipher it. Content-free gibberish.

It's likely due to the incoherent, manipulative media they consume.

Sure, 'vaccine' and 'pandemic' definition artists are gleefully welcomed to change their minds with the wind, as like CDC and Eugenicist Bill's bff 'Tony'

Translation: people who care about evidence revise their conclusions to accommodate new information.

Years ago, we had a few posters here who believed in reincarnation. After checking into their "past lives" forums and safe spaces, I came to the obvious conclusion: some people just like to listen to and tell stories. Tall tales, urban legends, whatever. It's a harmless pastime until you start dispensing medical advice.

Simple spray helps prevent SARS CoV 2

Povidone-Iodine Inactivates SARS-CoV-2

Already, PVP-I gargles, throat sprays and nasal sprays are available over-the-counter in countries such as Japan and Canada.7 In Japan, a 0.45% PVP-I throat spray is available for the prevention of colds and sore throats, while gargling with the compound is part of their national respiratory guidelines.

A simple mouth and nose spray containing povidone iodine (PVP-I) could act as an effective shield to protect against COVID-19

PVP-I is a microbicidal agent with a virucidal efficacy of 99.99%
When applied, the oronasal spray acts as a protective layer, coating the nasal and oral mucosa, which helps prevent SARS-CoV-2 from binding with ACE2 receptors and gaining entry into your cells
In a clinical trial that has not yet been published, a 0.6% PVP-I solution had an efficacy rate of about 81.5% with “almost no mucosal irritation”

Povidone iodine solutions have been found to inactivate SARS-CoV-2 in as little as 15 seconds and potentially reduce the carriage of infectious SARS-CoV-2 in people with mild to moderate COVID-19
Nebulized hydrogen peroxide diluted with normal saline, plus Lugol’s iodine, can also be used for any suspected respiratory infection; the earlier you start, the better

A simple mouth and nose spray could act as an effective shield to protect against COVID-19, adding one more tool to the arsenal of antiviral options. The straightforward solution was recommended by Dr. Mostafa Kamal Arefin of Dhaka Medical College & Hospital in Bangladesh and includes polyvinyl pyrrolidone or povidone iodine (PVP-I), a microbicidal agent with a virucidal efficacy of 99.99%.

Writing in the Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery, Arefin recommended the PVP-I oro-nasal spray for health care workers and anyone else to help prevent COVID-19,2 echoing a number of other studies that have also found benefits to gargling, nasal irrigation and nebulization of PVP-I and other compounds, including Lugol’s iodine, saline and hydrogen peroxide.

How Oronasal Sprays May Shield You From COVID-19

Arefin’s oronasal spray is made of a 0.6% PVP-I solution, kept in a “simple nasal spray device.” The spray formulation works better than drops, he noted, because it allows the active ingredient to diffuse further and reach deeper into the nose and nasopharynx, which is the upper part of the throat behind the nose. When applied, the oronasal spray acts as a protective layer, coating the nasal and oral mucosa.

Typically, if you’re exposed to SARS-CoV-2, it will enter your body through your nose and mouth, remaining there for a time before binding with ACE2 receptors and entering cells. Once inside your cells, the virus has an opportunity to multiply.

“The first step in the development of URTIs [upper respiratory tract infections],” Arefin writes, “is the adherence and colonization of the respiratory pathogen to the nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal mucosa. Assuming nasal and oral entry of such pathogens, intranasal and intra oral application of Povidone Iodine offers a practical measure for their prevention.”

By creating a protective shield, oronasal spray helps prevent SARS-CoV-2 from binding with ACE2 receptors and gaining entry into your cells. In a clinical trial that has not yet been published.

Arefin and colleagues got positive results using 0.6% PVP-I Oro-nasal spray in 189 patients with COVID-19. The 0.6% solution had an efficacy rate of about 81.5%, which was greater than that of other concentrations (0.4% and 0.5%) and produced “almost no mucosal irritation.”

Smells like another cash grab from Big Scam.

It's examples like this that make me wish that cancel culture actually existed. Where's a good silencing when you need one?

I guess it's impossible to protect the rubes from themselves, though.

Why not link to the actual paper itself, rather than to Mercola?

Having read more than enough of Mercola's nonsense over the years I would not put it past him to have just made stuff up about the actual paper. I mean, it's not as if not reading a paper, but still making inaccurate claims about its findings ever happens round here, is it?

Not so fast . . .

Can povidone iodine gargle/mouthrinse inactivate SARS-CoV-2 and decrease the risk of nosocomial and community transmission during the COVID-19 pandemic? An evidence-based update . . .

Since vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 are being rolled and administered globally, the use of PVP-I gargle/mouthwash as a simple, inexpensive, and safe adjunct should be used to reduce the risk of cross-transmission of SARS-CoV-2 viral particles to the community and healthcare professionals. Routine PVP-I gargling/mouthwash/nasal spray can be implemented for all hospitalized and non-hospitalized, symptomatic, and asymptomatic patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 to reduce the viral load

It is equally essential for healthcare professionals (dentists, dental assistants, dental technicians), isolated and quarantined individuals, frequent travelers to use PVP-I mouthrinse to minimize the risk of cross-infection in both the hospital and non-hospital settings. A timely prophylactic oral hygiene regimen using appropriate gargle/mouth rinse, and promoting awareness of the harmful outcomes of poor oral health, may significantly improve the health among vulnerable patients and bridge the gap between oral and general health during the COVID19 pandemic.

If the pandemic is not real, as your scare quotes would indicate, then there is nothing to protect against.
Which of your contradictory posts do you actually believe, Bubba?

There you go again

What is the alleged IFR you trust again please? (minus the comorbities)

And . . .

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased awareness of operating room transmission risks of the responsible virus, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). SARS-CoV-2 can remain aerosolized for at least three hours under experimental conditions and may persist for greater than 72 h on plastic and stainless steel surfaces; this creates substantial risks to all healthcare professionals [1]. The virus may reside in high concentrations in the nasal cavity, nasopharynx, oral cavity and oropharynx, and thus opportunities for dissemination of SARS-CoV-2 in the operating suite have been hypothesized [2, 3]. Intubation, as well as transoral and transnasal procedures, may pose a unique risk as viral particles may be aerosolized while performing these measures and contact with mucosa can be extensive. Various anecdotes confirm a relatively high prevalence of COVID-19 among otorhinolaryngologists, and for this reason, special precautions have been proposed for many aerosol-generating transnasal procedures [4]. Given that a minority of infected patients may remain asymptomatic, and that rapid and reliable screening remains limited, prevention against viral exposure has primarily focused on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) [5,6,7]. Topical oronasal treatment with povidone-iodine (PVP-I), better known as Betadine™ (Avrio Health, LP), may be an effective method to immediately reduce the viral load of the upper aerodigestive tract and thus decrease the risk of inadvertent virus transmission.
Currently, there are no recommendation for routine anti-viral prophylaxis using PVP-I, despite a strong record of extensive viricidal activity. It is our contention that oronasal application of PVP-I may serve as a prophylaxis measure, alongside PPE, during invasive procedures involving the mucosa of the upper aerodigestive tract in the era of SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Ask a psychic

That's some real mercola right there. "In a clinical trial that has not yet been published..."

Or does he?

Looks like it hasnt been published, as Mercola reported. How scandalous!

It looks like that poster has confused a universal prophylaxis with possible specific measure in controlled conditions during medical procedures.

ETA: I don't understand how I found those linked papers (and there are more) with all this censorship going on.

ETA III: If this treatment is ever considered as a universal prophylaxis, it will be through properly controlled clinical trials in which the results were replicated independently, not because of some quack website claims.

So there's a list of references. The references are not instances in which the paper in question was published, which is referred to in the link YOU PROVIDED as not yet published. If you accept the page you posted, accept what it says!

They may be references used within the paper to other things that were published. Though I would suggest that references that include a Twitter post might be lacking in epidemiological gravitas. In any case, at least some of those references allege, as I think has already mentioned, that this nasal spray treatment may help prevent cross-infection - that is, it may help prevent people who have the virus from passing it on. That is not immunity for the people spraying their noses, is it?

Oh, and while you're at it, if you're all bent out of shape over the participation of big pharma and the like, you should probably trouble yourself to read the "conflict of interest" statements in some of this stuff. I didn't bother to look closely, but note that some of these folks get support from something other than random anti-vaxxers on facebook.
