Trans women are not women (Part 8)

Should the woman behind these stickers be arrested and questioned at length?

Twitter now has agents that can arrest people? When did that start?

Seriously - what is "cancel culture" about the police acting like the police have always done? I've been questioned but thankfully not arrested by the police for sticking campaign materials up without permission. And that was back in the 1980s.

Should d4m10n keep cherry picking random examples of "society occurring" and presenting to us as if we're supposed to care or know what the hell he is on about?

Is that Cancel Culture?

No, that's Gwent police.

This isn't the cancel culture thread.

Yeah getting a tad meta. Sorry.

But what is the point of your post? What is the background, what is the story, what elements have you investigated and consider relevant to this thread, what are your thoughts? A link and an open-ended question are hardly going to engender a good faith discussion.

The statement "No Men in Women's Prison" has rather obvious relevance to this thread, and can be evaluated on its own without regard to "the story". As for d4m10n's question, that's tied rather directly to prior discussions about responses to other public figures who have opposed the trans-activist agenda.

The problem isn't that his post doesn't engender a good faith discussion. The problem is that you're jumping into the middle of a long-running discussion you haven't really been part of.

I must admit I am also not sure of the significance.

I don't know what is generally allowed, and generally prohibited, enough to know if the investigation is out of the ordinary. Based on data presented, I can't say enough to understand if there is an ideological motivation for going after the posters.

As of the start of me writing this, you have exactly 3 posts in this continuation, all on this page. Your last post from the previous continuation was more than a month ago, and you only had 4 posts in that continuation. d4m10n, in contrast, had 331 posts in the prior continuation.

You have not been an active participant in this thread. I'm not sure what's funny about that. It's just a statement of fact.

I'm sure Damion will provide context and relevance to the other active posters in this thread, as we continue the ongoing discussion we've been actively engaged in together.

But what is the point of your post?
To pose the question of whether someone who posts up stickers with slogans like "No men in women's prisons" and "Woman = Adult human female" ought to be arrested and interrogated by police. Have you any thoughts on that question?

What is the background, what is the story, what elements have you investigated and consider relevant to this thread, what are your thoughts?
The story is that someone posted up those stickers somewhere in the UK.

A link and an open-ended question are hardly going to engender a good faith discussion.
Why on Earth not?

Yeah I think that's our point.
Bit of a pointless point, given that arrest and interrogation by police are fairly distinct from cancellation by freelance moral entrepreneurs.

You can find most of the background information here. Apologies for the audio format.

Filling in some gaps...

Gwent police arrested a middle-aged disabled female in a wheel chair for putting up stickers addressing violence against women. They referred to the stickers as being hate-based and encouraging violence, based on complaints that the stickers were "transphobic". They held the female for over twelve hours, during which time they searched their house and confiscated a feminist book for no reason that anyone can figure out. They denied needed medications while they were being detained, even though the police had brought them from the female's house. The police finally released said female at 3 AM, and turned them loose to make their own way home in the middle of the night in their motorized wheelchair without returning the female's phone to them.

Meanwhile... activists in Gwent went around town and put up new stickers over the violence against women ones, depicting an anime character saying "**** you TERFS" and pointing a gun at observers.

The second stickers are apparently not troublesome at all.

Standing by for police apologism... [emoji14]

I was actually wondering if somebody was going to come along and 'educate' us as to how this shows how unacceptable gender critical views are, otherwise the police wouldn't be doing this, or something.

In other UK news, the Equality and Human Rights Commission has written two letters. One to the Scottish government expresses concerns about the nature of the debate on reform of the Gender Recognition Act and recommends caution over the reforms. The other recommends confining the proposed conversion therapy ban in the UK to sexual orientation only until there are clearer concepts of what is meant by 'transgender' and 'conversion therapy' in relation to gender identity and more information about the impact of on treatment of gender dysphoria.

The last is important since the conversion therapy ban is a Trojan horse. The EHRC seems to have hit the nail on the head:

'The consultation document contains no clear definition of what will amount to “conversion therapy” caught by its proposals, nor of the meaning of “transgender” – a term which has no clear legal meaning, is potentially wider than the concept of gender reassignment in current UK law, and is understood by different people in different ways. Nor does the consultation address the possible need to consider a differentiated approach in relation to sexual orientation and being transgender so as to ensure, in particular, that clinicians and therapists are not prohibited from providing appropriate care and support for individuals with gender dysphoria. '
