How do you know they weren't? Not all cops pound the beat.

I've worked with investigators. They don't wear uniform.

Do you really not understand the term "administrators" in this context? Really?

(Hint: "administrators" here means, very clearly, that these were back-office functionaries: HR, finance, facilities, etc. It means that they were not investigators. If they had been investigators, they would not have been referred to as "administrators")

Because your source specifies that they were administrators.

You're taking the mick right?

There was quite a lot of Cold War stuff going on, even in 1994. The Russians only moved their military out the month before the accident.

Your belief that Sweden was all Pippi Longstockings and gingerbread is sweet.

One authority believes Libyans planted a bomb.

No. Everything you're quoting from there is a secondary source which is editorialising.

Show us the primary-source factual evidence.

Vixen, you do understand what the difference between a primary and secondary source is, right?

But remember, folks, it's not a conspiracy theory!

In fairness (and somewhat pedantically) Vixen hasn't advanced a conspiracy theory.

There are a veritable smörgåsbord of mostly contradictory conspiracies that she has posited, and flits between whenever the calls for citation or debunkings get too much.

The only consistent themes seem to be that the JAIC report is a cover-up, and Carl Bildt is the villain of the piece (sometimes a nefarious mastermind, others a craven lackey of some foreign power or another, but always up to no good).

Can you cite a non-nut job source?>

I stand corrected, on my beam ends.

Wait! Sorry, are you trying to claim these police personnel were some kind of bunch of low level cleaners and filing clerks?
I most certainly do not. I do not speculate - I look up facts and post them.

In this case, as a response to speculation and guesses from another poster in this thread.

Think about it. There were 70 Stockholm Police on board. Stockholm being the capital I am guessing the elite. Some possibly SäPo, similar to the UK's MI5.

What I did was to post and explain that they were union representatives on a conference trip to discuss the upcoming reorganisation.

Explain how come quite a few of them were occupying the luxury Deck 6 cabins, along side Piht, the elderly sea captain and his wife and Voronin, if, as you imply they were minnows (so to speak).
Since that is not what I'm doing, I see no need to explain something you get upset over.

Ronnie Bergqvist - Policeman ST Section
The meaning of the "ST" is the key thing to understand. There are two unions that represent employees within the police force. "ST" and "Polisförbundet". Polisförbundet represent polices, meaning those that have been through Polishögskolan (the Police Academy) , and are employed as a police.

ST represents the civilian employees of the police force. They can be on all levels in the organisation. As of right now, there are about 33000 employees in the police force, 12000 of them are civilians.

Maybe I should add a couple of comments to this one.

When you setup a conference in Sweden and want to get away from the office to be able to work undisturbed, you have a couple of options. There are many conference organizers that have good places setup around Sweden, were they offer both conference facilities as well as lodging and food.

However, the cruise ships running across the Baltics do also offer these facilities, and quite often at a lower cost. With the added benefit being able to do some sightseeing, and being allowed to purchase tax free alcoholics (a BIG thing in Sweden!), these kind of conference trips are quite popular.

Thanks, that's genuinely enlightening.

It's a world away from the spy story stuff we've been fed up till now, of Swedish police along with other Western security services going to a conference in Estonia to help the Estonians set up their post-Soviet internal security. I wonder if the poster who brought us that version read it on some CT site or invented it herself.

None of these are examples of what was asked for.

Vixen, do you think that someone can be claimed to have a high degree of knowledge in physics (or indeed any degree of knowledge) if they think that nuclear weapons are impossible?
By "high degree of knowledge," do you mean like 40 degrees, or closer to 135 degrees? Is this knowledge on a linear or logarithmic scale, or does it ebb and flow on a semi-circle?
