Devin Nunes will leave House to work for Trump media company

Whatever it is, it's almost certain to be a scam that will fleece a lot of people out of a lot of money. Trump is the anti-Midas, everything he touches turns to ****.

If only all of us could be so "unlucky".

People are laughing at Trump’s new company

Is this the revenge of Four Seasons Landscaping?

That was the worn-down venue in Philadelphia where Donald Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, launched the doomed effort to block Joe Biden’s win in the 2020 presidential election. The Giuliani group meant to book the Four Seasons hotel, but somebody goofed and Giuliani ended up spouting his familiar election lies in front of an industrial garage door plastered with Trump signs. The Trump effort to overturn the election never got any more professional than that.

Trump’s new media company, called the Trump Media & Technology Group, may suffer the same amateurish delusions. An “investor presentation” the company recently filed with the Securities and Exchange commission is provoking guffaws among business analysts, with laughable evasions and barely any business strategy. “It does feel like every public action by this company is designed give the impression that it is a joke,” Bloomberg analyst Matt Levine wrote on Dec. 7.

The TMTG-DWAC tie-up is already in a bit of trouble. Donald Trump met with Patrick Orlando, DWAC’s chief executive, early in 2021, before DWAC had raised money as a SPAC and gone public in a September offering. If they discussed the very deal that happened, that would violate the rules for SPACs, which aren’t supposed to have a specific target company in mind when they raise funds. The Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating and could issue fines or sanctions, or find no wrongdoing at all.

Trump fancies himself a business icon, even though his current company is under investigation for fraud. His business history includes 6 bankruptcies and several thousand lawsuits. Trump’s real success came as a reality-show entertainer flacking a gilded lifestyle, not as a builder or dealmaker. His latest company may find a way to convert Trump’s jocular mendacity into steady profits, but it might also become little more than a Trump fan club that amuses outsiders who occasionally peek inside the fence.

This just screams:

SCAM!

Former President Donald Trump’s new social media company appears to have missed the November deadline it set to release an invitation-only beta version of “Truth Social,” its purported alternative to Twitter. There have been no official announcements of a beta launch, nor have there been any sightings or images of an operational platform online.

Oh, right.

(Note: Their web page has a 'join the waiting list' feature (which I am not going to use) and a 'pre-order on the app store'. (I guess Android users are out of luck....)

And the MAGAchuds, who are also easily conned by TV evangelists, will continue to pour money into it out of spite. And that's exactly what Donald wants from them.
That, or the wealthy people who know he's a con-artist but who want to gain favor with him for whatever reason.

I would like to know what investors Trump is going to find for this, since the major US investors won't touch it with a ten foot pole.

Isn't that the guy who leaked info on the house investigation of trump to Trump?

I can't imagine why investors wouldn't touch it. Trump has shown he is skilled at milking the people that follow him for their money. If he can get a hundred thousand people on there it would be supported.

Yup. Quite the corrupt scumbag if you ask me...

Nunes, who served on the Trump transition team, was the first leading House Republican to deny that the intelligence community had evidence of contact between the Trump campaign and Russian operatives.

(Flynn later resigned after it was found he lied about contacts with the Russians.)

...during the House Intelligence Committee's investigation into Russian interference...Nunes held a press conference to announce that he had received information that the communications of "some members of Trump's transition team, including potentially the president himself" had been "incidentally collected" by the intelligence community and "widely disseminated" throughout the intelligence community. He added that it was legal FISA surveillance, and unrelated to Russia.

Which was again a lie because the surveillance involved the Russian ambassador.

Nunes was widely criticized for sharing this information with the media and the president before briefing his colleagues on the committee.

Which of course violates the concept that the executive and legislative branches should be separate.

(It should be noted that criticism also came from some republicans, as well as Democrats.)

sources from both the Republican and the Democratic parties said the original documents Nunes cited did not support Trump's claims that the Obama administration acted illegally or unusually

So Nunes was supporting a claim that was made that he knew to be a lie....

In August 2018, Nunes traveled to London in an attempt to meet with the heads of MI5, MI6, and GCHQ for information about Steele, but was rebuffed by the three agencies.

Geee... I can't understand why foreign intelligence agencies would be hesitant to cooperate with Nunes.

aka "vapidware".

aka "vapidware".
Bait-and-switch-ware.

They will continue to string this out as long as the investment money keeps rolling in. It's hundreds of millions so far, so it's a successful scam to date. And all rolling into Donald's money-pits offshore in Saudi and Russian banks.

When that income stream eventually dries up, they will claim the "Fake Media" and "Leftist Twitter and Facebook" (hey, we can all fill in his blanks) were all "out to get them" and make them fail. It will be a long string of pathetic excuses and outright lies why there will be no Social Truth platform after all.

...investment money back?? Sorry, that's the risk you took.

Bait-and-switch, see?

Americans, generally, don't have a problem with scams, as long as they get in early enough to profit from the naive and desperate. The fact that MLMs are so widespread proves that.
