"In New York City, alone, protestors did about $1 million in damages to police vehicles!" sounds a lot more condemning if one doesn't also add that that's including those police vehicles that were ramming into protestors and otherwise being used to attack protestors.

It's fairly certainly true that there was "leftist violence" in a small portion of the protests. It's also true that much of the actual leftist violence was reactive, rather than proactive. Going past that, though, much of the damage that was actually done in total was done by opportunists that weren't particularly associated with the protests in the first place. Some of the damage, for that matter, was done by the police themselves. Those parts of the picture are unlikely to have been cared about by the right-wing media, though, as they did their best to blame it all on BLM and the left. The attempts to demonize BLM are particularly worthy of an eyeroll, given that BLM, as an organization, trains its members to actively cooperate with and help the police apprehend any actual individual committing crimes and trying to use the protests as cover to get away with it, at last check, on top of everything else. Not that that helps much in the cases where police are just looking for any excuse to harm those they feel aren't giving them the respect and deference they want or just don't want to actually be held accountable for their actions.

Black Lives Matter (BLM) is a decentralized political and social movement protesting against incidents of police brutality and all racially motivated violence against black people. While there are specific organizations such as the Black Lives Matter Global Network that label themselves simply as "Black Lives Matter", the overall movement is a decentralized network of people and organizations with no formal hierarchy.

Doesn't sound like they do much of anything as "an organization". At any rate, there are probably plenty of threads on this topic. I'm not debating it here.

What is he trying to achieve by making statements like this?
He does this kind of thing often enough, so it's not surprising anymore. It's barely shocking anymore. It shouldn't ever become acceptable.

He won't even remember them 30 seconds later. And he will deny he ever said them even while the video of it rolls in front of his face. Clearly he is not even tangentially impinging on reality. The Magachuds are following a lunatic.

That's exactly what I keep banging on about! Of course he won't.

He - and his revolting brood - are trolling the **** out of Dumbocrats and they buy every single bit of it. Media reports it, it gets amplified and he's back where he wants to be: in the news, being talked about.

His only asset, if you can even use that word with a tub of orange lard, is that he knows how to keep his ratings up. He did it in the 1980s ans '90s - why do you think The Simpsons and Back to the Future used him as a template - and he'll keep doing it.

This is why a sensible opposition would be focusing on fixing things and ignoring the hell out of him. Biden hasn't been a terrible president, but his ratings are horrible.

I think that's entirely due to the fact he isn't in the public's face all day. People are conditioned to wonder what the hell a president's doing if he isn't Tweeting at them 18 hours a day.

Well, it didn't seem to do Trump any harm when he crawled off to his bunker like the coward he is when someone farted outside the White House, so maybe basements are good?

When there's a pandemic sweeping the country, normal campaigning is not possible. Sensible voters like people who behave sensibly, so I wouldn't expect taking the recommended precautions to do Biden any harm with his voters

I think it also helped because he is not a very good orator. Sometimes the less you say, the better off you are.
 
Trump shut down the post office, lied about the voting results, tried to kill his VP and had a mob attack the US Capitol to stop certification and he still lost the election.

Who cares about his offspring on Hunter ?

Trump is accused of sexually abusing minors with Jeffrey Epstein and he doesn't want us to talk about it so he released an offensive statement about Ilhan Omar.

Taking a person to tax for being an immigrant when two of his three wives are immigrants, and one of them, if the laws he touts were taken seriously would have been thrown out, seems...what is the word...just a little bit...oh, how to put it...not entirely reasonable.
