Today's Mass Shooting

Status
Not open for further replies.
Nashville, Tennessee

3 killed, 4 wounded.

Home invasion robbery.

Christian Akail Johnson, a convicted robber, who was one of the invaders, is dead. Strange how none of the media has posted a mug shot from his prior conviction.

Two brothers, 18-year-old Zacquez Sherrell and 15-year-old Tavarius Sherrell, were killed.

Their mother, 16-year-old and 20-year-old sisters and 13-year-old brother were among the wounded.

The father/s was/were unavailable for comment, apparently.

Newark, New Jersey

1 killed, 3 wounded.

Drive by. All four victims were between the ages of 12-17. 17-year-old Djiba Kaba did not survive.
No arrests have been made and police have not released a description of the shooters.

Imma guess the getaway vehicle did not have a Gadsen flag on it.

Aurora, Colorado

5 wounded.

All victims were between the ages of 16-20.
For the third time in the last two weeks, multiple teenagers were shot in Aurora.

Jason McBride, a black secondary violence prevention specialist, had this to say,
"These kids aren't thinking straight or they just don't care, which is even more scary. So really we have to do some things, and I think mental health is the number one thing we need to do," McBride said. "We talk about what the problem is. We all know the problem. Let’s talk about solutions."
I disagree.

East Baltimore, Maryland

7 wounded.

This is the third mass shooting in this same east Baltimore community since mid-September in which 19 people in total were shot, including eight youth.

But Kyle Rittenhouse!

Evanston, Illinois

1 killed, 4 wounded.

Drive-by. All five victims were between 18 years old and 14 years old.

Lancaster, California

5 killed.

Familcide. Germarcus David, a black male, shot and killed his four children, all under the age of 12. He killed the children's grandmother too.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

4 wounded.

Few details, no suspect description given.

12 mass shootings.

15 killed.

42 wounded.

0 suspected white DVEs on the trigger.

3 Students dead, 6 injured, 15 year old shooter in custody.

Law enforcement had it under control in 5 minutes. Kid lawyered up immediately. Things happen so fast nowadays...

I'd love to speculate, but unfortunately, much practice tells me to wait.

Yep, and they've already talked to his parents. Updated to 8 injured with 2 in surgery, 2 young ladies killed and a young man.

What kind of backward, hellhole country thinks this is a requirement?

The kind of ****-hole where Gunz 'n Gawd are synonymous. Where the misinterpreted 2nd Amendment is as revered as the 2nd Coming. Where the lives of even kindergartners is a price willingly paid for the Gawd-given right to pack heat.

I have a number of American clients here in this town who were holidaying when Covid struck and they ended up stuck here, unable to return. Almost all of them are now applying for permanent residency; they don't want to go back.

One in particular, a young couple with a young family do not want to return to the USA because they do not want to go back to an environment and a country where "active shooter drills" in schools are even a thing. The wife described these drills as the ultimate in "ambulance at the bottom of the cliff" logic. I agree with her... address the symptom instead of the cause.

The school shooting today happened in my neck of the woods. The shooter's father bought the gun four days ago, although there are rumors that several guns were removed from the house when a search warrant was executed.

Senseless...

And.......Bogative posted yesterday about 3 killed and four wounded in one incident. No one called the President.

ETA: They released the names of the dead from Oxford High School today. They seemed extraordinary kids. High academic achievers, along with extra curricular accomplishments, and very, very, good looking. That makes it seem so much more tragic. Should it be? I don't know.

Good thing dad bought an extra magazine. Otherwise the shooter would have had to stop.

ETA2: Latest evidence is that the shooter fired 12 shots. Didn't empty a magazine after all, but he did have one available. That's some impressive shooting. 12 shots. 11 hits. That kid must really know how to handle a gun.

An exceptional one where regulation which makes attacks like this very rare in other countries is unimplementable because of population density, size of country, racial diversity, economic disparity or any of a long list of *reasons*.

It's not a matter of thinking it is necessary. The frequency of these attacks in the U.S. makes it necessary. That is not to say that its necessity doesn't make the US a backward hellhole country.

Prosecutor in Oxford speaking now. She won't say it yet, but based on what she is saying, I would be amazed if there were no charges filed against one or both parents.

She's talking about gun laws and especially about keeping guns secure.

ETA: And she actually used the phrase "appropriate gun control" while talking about revisiting gun laws.

I suspect it will do about as much good as my "March for our Lives" T-shirt, but I'm glad to hear a prosecutor say it.

Not sure I would consider firing into a crowd indoors much of a marksmanship challenge. About as close to fish in a barrel as it gets.

Times have changed since I was a teenager. I recall some very bad people going to my high school. They tried to get weaker students to give them money, picked on them including spitting on them , shoving them and hitting them. It would sometimes happen out of the clear blue sky with a student being assaulted by a stranger. There were gangs at my school and I believe attacking some unknown unsuspecting individual was a gang ritual.

Nobody was ever gunned down. Despite the horrible goings on no one was ever threatened by a gun or any other weapon. Only on one occasion was a knife used against another student. Nobody died even then.

Teachers and staff were either unaware or unwilling to help no matter how bad the event was. My school for some guys was Hell.

One stabbing after school, no shootings.

Daddy buys a Sig 9mm, and a few days later the kid shows up and lights up the school.

'Murca.

Hope daddy-O is charged for this. Gun safes and locks are cheap compared to a new Sig with extra clips.

And news stories today contradicted the twelve shot story I read yesterday, so maybe he did switch magazines after all.

The sheriff is about to do another press conference, maybe we'll learn more.

Ethan Crumbley is the kids' name. I'm not sure if that's been released yet. It sounds like he isn't talking to anyone, but I'd assume the police already have every single bit of social media, cell phone data, etc. that is out there.
