AP News: "Let's go, Brandon" is really code for "**** Joe Biden"

Ah, so now all we need is some form of evidence that the person who fired him, reported him, or made him not show up to work was a liberal!
Or better yet, evidence that the only possible reason to be fired is if the people making the decision to fire must have been "triggered" (or now "butthurt" apparently).

This is like that thread where somebody keeps claiming that everything anybody ever does about the plague has to be because they're "panicking".

Well, at my job, and this is a huge global corp, there is no problem with wearing any kind of Pride or BLM shirts, or whatever. But, you can't wear a shirt that says, "All Lives Matter".

Have you no courage in your convictions? You should challenge such injustice. Preferably at a large meeting, with the highest-ranking executives present. I'm certain your bravery would be appreciated for what it is, and you would receive suitable reward. Then you could yourself be Brandon, and go!

The real beauty is that some are making it an issue of, "prove it was a liberal"...when they know that wouldn't change their opinion in any way, regardless.

Even though, they know, it was a more than likely a liberal who reported it.

Welcome to Clown City.

Clown City is repeatedly knocking a skeptics forum that you, yourself, visit constantly, posting a story while you make a very explicit claim about that story, having exactly **** all to back that claim up, and then attempting to call others clowns.

You definitely know about Clown City. No doubts there.

Not only that, but they have large articles regarding LGBTQ+ issues on their intranet. I am just pointing out, your idea that prominent discussion of sexuality should not be part of the workplace is not even remotely universal. But that is a different topic...the only tie-in is that it is certainly at least as controversial as politics.

Sexuality <> sex, though. "I'm gay" isn't discussing sex, any more than a straight person mentioning they have a spouse of a different gender is. "I like it spit-roast style", however, is discussing sex, regardless of the sexes of the individuals involved.

Although personally, I would refrain from bringing up sexuality also, simply because it leads to annoying consequences. Either people will react negatively, which is hateful, or they'll react too positively, which is irritating. They'll try to set you up with people, or get weirdly curious, or in the case of certain sorts of women they'll try to recruit you to be their gay best friend. I wouldn't say sexuality is therefore an automatically unprofessional topic, but I would say it might be wiser to avoid it. Best to err on the side of discretion when it comes to the workplace.

Or sex. Professionalism is keeping stuff that doesn't belong at work, away from work. I've been with my current company for nine years now, and nobody there has any idea who I vote for, what I worship, or who I sleep with. That's not work stuff. Even if you do happen to say a prayer or bang somebody at work, you keep it quiet.

Especially if you do either of those *at work*.

Well, that's a fair distinction. But, at least with my company, I don't think they really hold back when it comes to promoting or condemning acceptance of certain political and social agendas. And they always lean left.

Is that sex, politics, or religion? Because I'm pretty sure those are the three topics I mentioned as being unprofessional. Sports, while boring, isn't automatically unprofessional. (Unless you work for a sports team and are promoting their rivals, I suppose.) You can hang up a calendar featuring pet rabbits but not one featuring Playboy Bunnies (is that even still a thing?). You can say "Go Crimson Tide!" but not "Go Shining Path!" You can wear a college-branded sweatshirt (depending on dress code) but not a college-branded strap-on dildo (again depending on dress code).

Is this interpretation of professionalism truly alien to you? If so then perhaps you really should visit HR, I'm sure they have some documentation you could read.
Go Gamecocks!

I guess you could always apply to work at Parler, or Gab, or perhaps Jimmy Dore is hiring a new producer after he threw the last one under the bus when his anti-vaxx schtick was called out. He also sells Let’s Go Brandon T-shirts because he knows a grift when he sees one.

Saw a boat taking down a big ‘let’s go Brandon’ flag in order to fit under a low bridge, the other day. I’m sure the guys flying it were making a playful commentary on the mealy mouthed media and not at all intending it to be automatically read as that other thing.

How about the next time someone wishes you a merry christmass you get in their face about how "All Holidays Matter!"

I recently read a political cartoon that talked about how love and sex are often conflated in popular culture for homosexuals, "this weird kind of expectation that 'gay' means 'sexual'". It was mainly talking about how this has resulted in an aversion to the depiction of same-sex crushes between children or teenagers in movies and TV shows, while similar heterosexual relationships are no problem at all. The cartoon cited the movie "My Girl", the "Boy Meets World" and "The Wonder Years" TV shows, and the Archie comic books as examples of stories involving children or teens that are romantic but not sexual.

It must burn lots of calories working so hard to twist yourself into pretzels to purposefully miss the point so often.

Call it "The MAGA Diet", book available only from NEWSMAX and OAN.

That would surely depend on where your company is located, yes? I went home to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. Our farm is in a rural area down in the southern part of the state, and businesses down there were flying big Impeach Joe Biden flags or Trump 2024 flags. Not homes, businesses. One of my relatives is a member of the fire department and was on-call and had to leave to handle a grass fire. He was wearing a "Let's Go Brandon" t-shirt.

Of course, these are small companies, not big companies where you'd never get away with that kind of thing. But it's always a bit jarring to me when I go home for the holidays.

My company is a fairly huge global corporation. So it's apples and oranges.

Hobby Lobby kind of set a standard there. Companies can have religious beliefs that are more important than their employee’s beliefs. Sucks, huh?
