According to Michael Flynn, subpoenaed coup plotter:
Flynn said:
If we are going to have one nation under God, which we must, we have to have one religion. One nation under God, and one religion under God.

2020 notwithstanding, these are the people who are succeeding in the overthrow of US democracy.

Not far off from Michael Badnarik's advisers, really.

I think way too much about how much we deep dove into that guy and how it is hard now to find any of it that still sounds as implausibly absurd as it did in 2004.

2004. In the midst of a phenomonally destructive, wrong-headed war. The US engaging in torture. A clueless doofus as POTUS heading for re-election. In retrospect ... the good old days.

Bannon is the member of Trump's inner circle that is the hardest to gauge how much he believes in his own bull. Unlike like a lot of Trump's cult members Bannon probably does believe in legit conspiratorial deep state nonsense to some degree, not just mouthing the words to it as a way to appeal to a political base.

He might still be one of the "true believers" that is waiting on some Gabriel's Horn to blow and for Trump to finally lead the revolution against the deep state child molesting blood drinking cabal.

Bannon has turned himself in.

At about 9:30 this morning, Eastern time, Steve Bannon turned himself in at the F.B.I.’s Washington field office. He is in custody right now, expected to be arraigned in federal court this afternoon. At which point he'll probably be released.

Here's Bannon arriving at the FBI office in DC about ninety minutes ago. Steve's keeping it classy as always!

I don't think he's that far down the rabbit hole, but he's definitely more than just cashing a paycheck. When Trump won in2016, I said there were 2 people on the face of the earth who actually wanted him to win. Roger Stone and Steve Bannon. Bannon probably doesn't believe in Trump, but he believes he's in some struggle against the Deep State.

Well at least Steve Bannon has done one good thing in his life by turning himself in.

After all, Trump often liked to say that he is very supportive of "Law and Order".

Interesting. You claim to be a convicted felon. Whatever felony you might have been convicted of (and I am not asking), what have been the practical effects on daily life? My impression is that it trails around forever. But I don't know for certain.

ETA: You can clearly the me to get lost. That is OK with me.

If you were in the Discord channel, you'd see I'm pretty much an open book, so ask away.

The effects on my life now are fairly minimal as it happened in 1999-2000 (arrested in '99, sentenced in '00, revoked and hit with it again in '01, did some time), but at the time they were horrible. No rights at all, really. I couldn't vote, had no rights to search and seizure, etc. It was really tough to get a job on probation, but the impact for me was minimal because I'm a white guy in North Dakota. A white felon is better, to most, than any PoC to the folks up here. I don't condone it, but I saw it all the time, disgusting as it is.

Nowadays it doesn't follow me around as much. When Obama changed how the federal government operates with felons, several other places did too. Now that I go after jobs that require resumes vs. applications, I don't tell anyone, anything at all about it. I don't think they bother looking either.

This is not true. Bannon will be arraigned and a court date will be set. If he's convicted. (which he should be) He will be sentenced.

Right, which will take years to get done. That was my point. The article I was reading also stated that most juries are prone to let people off for this particular charge. I'll see if I can scrounge the article up again.

They can delay this until 2024, I truly feel.

Pretty sure he was talking about the TV show, and only when the female attorney's were on! :D

And he's already back out on the street. Jeez Bannon I'm hoping you appearing before Congress to explain your role in the downfall of the country didn't interrupt the flow of your day too much.

Bannon styles himself as a Christian nationalist of some sort, more similar to Pence than Trump and he's willing to align with almost anybody to open a path to it.
