The ultimate punishment I would rather see for T**** is for his followers to realize the truth and make it public. It won't happen, of course, because such things rarely do except in dreams, but I'd really like to see him face the odium he deserves from his minions when they come to realize how they've been misled, and turn on him with the hatred and fury he cultivated in them.

Trump will be a research project for political scholars for decades to come.
We will learn a lot, lot more, especially when he's dead and his family and associates want to cash in on what they can tell.
History will be honest to Trump, and crown him as the worst President in history up to now.
Grandparents will lie to their grandchildren and say that they never supported him.

I have no doubt of this, welcome it, and hope it happens sooner rather than later. But I would like a good bit of it to happen while he's still alive enough and competent enough to see it. Not to put too fine a point on it, I'd like to see him die in disgrace and know it.

Even if he were to be completely disgraced to the point that 99.99% of Americans thought he was worse than Pol Pot or Hitler, that would leave 33,000 Americans that still believed in him. Trump would gather them all around him, ignore everyone else, and shuffle of this mortal coil believing he was the best president ever to president the good 'ol US.

"In good shape" doesn't need to refer to just physiological health; it can also be, and in this context clearly is, a metaphor meaning "in a good situation, in good circumstances, safe, secure, expected to be fine/OK". Notice that he said it right after a reference to Pence being "well protected".

I haven't heard it much lately myself. It might be a NYC thing, or an age thing.

His obsession with projecting an image of excellence & superiority comes with a constant fear that people aren't buying it or won't keep buying it for long if they are for now. It's why he lashes out so hard at even the tiniest potential interference with that projection from other people. (I figure it's also part of why he hasn't officially announced whether he's running for President again next time; he's afraid that if he loses again everybody will think of him as a loser.)

Running is one thing. Trump liked some aspects of being a powerful person, but he never wanted to be president every day. That will weigh in on his decision, if he is able to make a decision. He gets tossed into things where he was for something or it made him look good. Then he loses interest.

The USSS can never reveal anything the president has said, so we’ll never know, but I’d offer 2:5 odds that Trump asked if he could order the Secret Service to cut back on the number of agents assigned to Pence on Jan 6.

Reminds me of others in history who were over the top with their 'patriotism' by flying flags, etc and holding rallies. :rolleyes:
