Pretty sure any felony at all prohibits you from having a firearm. Per the ATF firearms transaction record for over the counter sales, question #21(c)

Word violent need not apply. I am a non-violent, non-drug related felon and I can't own a gun federally. I can own one according to my state, but I can never purchase one in a store.

There are also a few misdemeanors that can result in a life long gun ban as well. Domestic assault comes to mind.
 
A judge has granted Trump's request to temporarily deny access to records from the National Archives requested by the J6 Committee. Law experts said it was expected but that it will more than likely be overturned by an appellate judge.

Just like his taxes, there's something he desperately does not want made public.
 
I wonder where the orange sphincter stands in the pantheon of citizens who've interacted with courts, of their own volition and at the behest of others. In one form or another, this joker has had courts in his life for a helluva number of times. And a number yet to come--we hope.

I recall two cracks at the Supreme Court, and I wouldn't be surprised at another in the offing.

Is that another thing that makes him 'smart' to his cult?
 
Grand Jury returns indictment against Bannon:

A federal grand jury has returned an indictment against former Trump adviser Steve Bannon for contempt of Congress, the Justice Department announced Friday.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has been under tremendous political pressure to indict Bannon since the House referred the Trump ally to the Justice Department for contempt on October 21.
Without an indictment, critics have said, there's doubt over how much power the House January 6 committee has to compel cooperation from former White House and Trump administration officials. Friday, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows failed to appear for a deposition, sources familiar with the investigation told CNN, setting up a potential showdown that could lead to the panel beginning a criminal referral process against him.

I don't know how much this changes things, but it's movement at least.
 
This is no longer a legal or even govermental (that needs to be a word) battle, it's a battle of will.
 
Steve Bannon is now... **** if I know contempt of being in contempt at this point. I don't even know what to call the point he's at.

It really doesn't change anything. Just like normal it would take years for this criminal case to go through and most of the time they get off. From what I can tell it doesn't do **** lol.

Interesting. You claim to be a convicted felon. Whatever felony you might have been convicted of (and I am not asking), what have been the practical effects on daily life? My impression is that it trails around forever. But I don't know for certain.

ETA: You can clearly the me to get lost. That is OK with me.

This is not true. Bannon will be arraigned and a court date will be set. If he's convicted. (which he should be) He will be sentenced.

The weekend. Having officers come in on a weekend is four hours of call back overtime (basically 8 hours of normal time if the officers are over General Schedule Grade 12 and officers for this almost certainly would be. Officers under that would get four hours of double time). If they work into the Sunday that's another premium pay on top of overtime. Best to wait and do it between 8 and 5 normal business hours when the officers would be in anyway.
 
Correct me if I'm wrong but "contempt of congress" only carries about a two-year sentence in the fed and a small* fine. However, showing up and lying under oath might be a bit more serious. This might well be Bannon's worst case. More likely kick the can down the road, delay and wait for your buds to make all this nastyness go away.

*Maybe for him.

And when the next Republican president gets into office he'll get pardoned. And possibly awarded a medal.

The Democrats don't have the balls to actually do.

They'll blink first. Bannon knows it. Trump knows it.

He'll walk. Trump will walk.
 
It has been said that a grand jury will indict a ham sandwich. I don't know if that's true or not but we can now confirm a grand jury will indict an unmade bed.
