That this crap isn't "fringe" is not a good thing.
No doubt. It's a great thing!

I wasn't too big on the "******* Joe Biden" chants that were happening at all of the football games, but after the NASCAR event and the morph into "Let's Go Brandon" I'm starting to enjoy it a bit more. I recently saw the video where a Southwest Airlines pilot used "Let's go Brandon" over the in-flight PA system, and I've also heard the phrase "Brandon Administration" used a few times. Good stuff.
https://www.npr.org/2021/11/01/1051074812/lets-go-brandon-southwest-pilot"Southwest is conducting an internal investigation into the recently reported event and will address the situation directly with any Employee involved while continuing to remind all Employees that public expression of personal opinions while on duty is unacceptable. Southwest does not tolerate any behavior that encourages divisiveness," the airline said.
He might regret his stupidity:

I have my doubts about that, they were calling themselves teapartiers, I don't think I'd ever heard anyone them call themselves teabaggers.
The grassroots movement didn't always consider "tea bagger" a slur: Early Tea Partiers innocently embraced the term until they discovered its vulgar connotations (see also the 1998 John Waters movie Pecker). In a twist, some conservatives have recently advocated that the word be reclaimed. Here's a look at the evolution of the insult:
Feb. 27, 2009
At the first anti-stimulus "New American Tea Party" rally in Washington D.C., a protestor carries a sign reading "Tea Bag the Liberal Dems before they Tea Bag You!!" The Washington Independent's David Weigel calls it "the best sign I saw."
March 2
Americans for Prosperity, an anti-tax group, is one of the first Tea Party organizations to advocate sending tea bags to elected officials to protest the stimulus package. Several other lobby groups follow suit.
April 1
Several Tea Party protest sites encourage readers to "Tea bag the fools in DC." Jay Nordlinger at National Review Online later admits: "Conservatives started [using the term]... but others ran and ran with it."
You are assuming that she didn't hear it as "Let's go, Brandon." When I first listened to it, that's what I heard. Sort of like hearing "There's a bathroom on the right" instead of "There's a bad moon on the rise" in "Bad Moon Rising" by CCR. But your assuming it was intentional says a lot about you.
LMAO. "Cancel culture" at it's best.
More like, "Might regret his honesty".
"Liberal" thought...at it again.
Hey, there's no doubt that there's many words to describe driving a car, even competitively in an intense, difficult, dangerous, and/or grueling manner. I don't think athletic is one of them, even if they do share some similarities.
I'd invite you find your own that allows for driving a car to be described as an athletic activity rather than asking me to define it, as I would describe any definition that would include operating a motor vehicle as a feat of athletics as poor.
LOL. Yeah.![]()

**** Joe Biden for what exactly? The Afghanistan mess? I can live with it. Being a creep? I don't buy the pearl clutching. Being a feckless neoliberal who they wish was progressive? Doubt it's coming from that.
Safe bet that it's a bunch of crybaby MAGAs in opposition to anyone who went against their leader. I don't see that as funny or some valid tit-for-tat for the **** Trump got.

I started hearing stories about the chant at sporting events during that mess (and well before "Let's Go Brandon"), so I suspect that was the genesis.
Most of it is motor sports fans, Mudders, Racers, Rock crawlers, and Dune Buggies.

Competitive driving is 100% an athletic endeavor (both physically and cognitively), so much so that I’m not able to imagine how anyone could assert otherwise.
Competitive driving is 100% an athletic endeavor (both physically and cognitively), so much so that I’m not able to imagine how anyone could assert otherwise. That leaves me to wonder then if your definition of what is athletic or not may be at root of the issue. So me “find[ing] my own” isn’t much help in discussions like these which require an agreement on any definition(s).
That's pretty easy to imagine. If you have never driven or even ridden in a race car while racing, it's easy to imagine that it's just like normal driving, just faster. And normal driving isn't an athletic endeavor, it takes little strength or endurance, so why would just stepping a little harder on the gas pedal turn it into one? Such an extrapolation is wrong, but it's easy to make.
