If any of that were true I would agree with you. And, indeed, you hear all that stuff from the Justice Department lawyers during their weekly gabfest with Rachel Maddow or Brian Stelter. "These people are worse than Hitler and they were planning to nuke the capitol and hang Mike Pence and this is by far the worst attack on any country since the dawn of time!!!11!!!"

But then a funny thing happens. They get in front of a judge where it's not just what rolls out of their mouths and they actually have to provide evidence and it turns into "Your Honor, we have this defendant dead to rights on illegal parading, we want you to throw the book at them by giving them 60 days in jail."

Again, I'm not defending any rioter. I think that they're all a bunch of idiots and they deserve to be and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But I'm not going to believe the media's partisan hyperbole without seeing some evidence.
