Maybe when Trump croaks, I'll find a photo of his casket and slap it on a shirt with the caption "He finally shut up". See how much money I can make from that.

EDIT: Although Herman Cain continued to Tweet after he died, so the shirt might not be accurate.

Well, in all fairness...Baldwin should expect such criticisms and attacks. He spent years mocking Trump on television.

True. A normal person would get over jokes at their expense and move on, but this is a family dominated by a thin-skinned narcissist with an incredibly fragile ego who holds on to grudges for years.

"Daddy! Daddy! I made fun of the mean man who made fun of you! Do you love me now?!? Do you?!? Daddy?"

Of course, he ought indeed to expect his mocking to be met with flamboyantly extreme stupidity. If he didn't, I suspect that it was only because he forgot how unimaginably dumb and anti-sympathetic it could be.

I don't see any relation. Why would that be expected?

Come on, Bob. We all know how this works: If you are consistently publicly critical of others and/or judge them, you can certainly expect the same in return.

Right or wrong, that is the way it works. Everybody knows the rules.

In that regard, I see this as fair game for Trump and his supporters.

Do you consider yourself one of his supporters?

Nope. But I am not caught up in any liberal angst about what is occurring here, either.

These are the rules of the game. If you are an outspoken critic and publicly mock and judge others as Baldwin has done, you can expect others to respond in kind.

He railed on Trump for years; now the "Trump Team" is going to pay him back. With interest.

I think the far more reasonable thing is for politicians to realize that is their role to receive criticism. The only reasonable thing to criticize Baldwin for is his acting in released films and television.

They are not the same thing: An actor appearing on a comedy show playing the president and the son of that former president selling T-shirts that make a joke about an accidental death.

Making fun of the president is a well-established tradition in American comedy. All the comedians who did Richard Nixon impersonations, 'mocking and judging him;' did any of the Nixon kids strike back? How about Reagan or Clinton or either Bush. All were impersonated by comics. Any of their family members slam back at the comics in a very tasteless way? Or in any way?

Once again trump and his family have lowered the bar, degraded the office of the presidency, acting in a way no other First Family ever did or, I would say, ever would.

Decent people see this.

Somebody died. Someone with loved ones. A piece of dirt mocks that to amuse his vile father, and you accept it. Is there no position you won't twist yourself into to excuse this monstrous breed called "Trump"? Have you no decency left?

Well said, newyorkguy and CapelDodger! Warp's post is a classic example of false equivalence. Baldwin's role on SNL mocking Trump for his stupidity, lies, and behavior never included trying to make money off of someone's tragic death. Never mind that Baldwin himself was not responsible for that death and that blame lies on the armorer and, perhaps, the asst. director. The latter may or may not have violated a safety protocol as I think that's not been determined yet. But for anyone to think what Baldwin did as comedy skits is in any way comparable to what Donnie Jr. is doing is just unbelievable. The former is comedy and the latter is just tasteless, disgusting, money-grubbing, attention seeking pandering to Daddy. Any sense of shame is just non-existent in the Trump family. They are one sick bunch.

Rules of the game. Sorry. I didn't make them.

There is a separate topic on Baldwin. Suffice it to say, as a Producer on the film, he is far from in the clear.
