This is the irony of the whole "THEY want to reduce the population" conspiracy nutcases claims. By not getting the vaccine and refusing to mask up and isolate, the nuts are now literally killing themselves off, egged on by the likes of De Santis and other Republican and Rightwing mouthpieces. The major worry is that while they are doing it they are going to allow the virus to mutate again and cause a variety that is not only more contagious and deadly than even the Delta variety but also one that the vaccine doesn't work against.

In 1905 Boston issued a mandate for its citizens to get vaccinated for smallpox. Teams of doctors along with police went door to door to vaccinate individuals. If you refused they held you down and vaccinated you.

This mandate was appealed to the United States Supreme Court. The court ruled that the mandate was legal.
