An idea I started thinking about just this morning, and here comes smartcooky with data.

How about a sociology of these rioters? 563 is already a big enough sample to reveal significant trends. Over time, we could compile fairly complete profiles of them, frequently with their cooperation. (Vanity is a great motivator.)

There could be at least one dissertation in this, and a best-seller for sure.

Yes, I'd like to see something systematic. Most of what I've seen informally so far suggests that most are far from what you'd consider the "have nots" of society, but more like the "mine, you can't have any" crowd. Small business owners and tradespeople and the like who are convinced that their hard-earned primacy is threatened by the kind of people their leader likes to describe with words like "infestation." But I'd like to see it broken down in a less anecdotal form.

I sincerely hope this mofo experiences the full wrath of the law

The last few years, for me at least, have really driven home that we (sorta) had the right idea but applied it in (sorta) the absolute wrong way.

It's difficult to put exactly into words but we were forming (more or less) the right categories but applying them to what people actually WERE when the entire time we should have been applying them to what people saw themselves as.

More bad news for MAGALAND as their totally lost the battle of Charottesville today as the Robert E Lee Statue went down.

Let's do both: Describe and analyze them objectively, using statistical methods (I'm not one of those who disparages sociology), AND get them to speak for themselves and about themselves, and at as much length as possible, like psychologists letting a patient talk. The pathologies they reveal will be interesting, and will be useful in addressing public policy.

Right now, they sound like Hitler's original base: self-righteous lower bourgeoisie who are always quick to think themselves aggrieved. But I'd like to refine that picture, using these citizens as crude data.

True enough, I think, After all, for how long has the Christian majority managed to portray itself as a downtrodden minority?

Some of those are hypothetical. I'd want initially to collect objective data on race, income, education, occupation(s), geographical origin, and religion. Attitudes and prejudices can come next. Their motivations for rioting might be considered after other trends are identified; after all, these are individuals with something -- often a great deal -- to say for themselves. Well, express anyway.

I can see a book-length treatment of their cases. You could assign them numbers, perhaps in the order in which they were arrested, if somebody objects to shaming them. I said crude data.

Maybe I'll sound a bit thick but I don't follow you here.

I wonder if anyone would arrange for a Grant to put the person in your avatar up as a good replacement?

10. They are a Dad with three kids who love their children.

Trump speaking on Fox on who shot Ashli Babbitt

"I've heard also that it was the head of security for a certain high official. A Democrat. It's gonna come out."

Fox Host Maria Bartiromo replies with strong hints that someone associated with Chuck Schumer shot Ashli Babbitt.

She then says "They continue to call this an armed insurrection, and yet no guns were seized"

(Stun guns, pepper spray, baseball bats, flagpoles wielded as clubs and pipe bombs don't count as weapons it seems)

Completely irresponsible stuff.
