One of my earliest memories is from when I was 4 years old and we were being sent to Germany by the AF: 12 shots in 2 days. I can remember kicking the med tech who came at me with one needle too many, and running down the hall with him and my mom chasing after me.

When I took basic, they had you strip naked,on the first day of basic, and it was two shots in the left arm, two in the right arm, and, for a grand finale in the butt.
Then they told you to throw away your underwear, you would not need them anymore, and you got your first issue of Army Underwear....

I'll match you shot for shot Stacy. I spent 6 months in the hospital when I was 8. They gave me a shot almost every day and sometimes multiple shots in a day. What I hate is when they drew blood or did a spinal tap. Trust me when I say you never want to get one of those..

I will gladly let you keep that record, AC! I've never had a spinal tap and hope never to. At 67, I've never had a serious illness and only one surgery (gall bladder) almost 10 years ago. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

When my husband had thyroid cancer about 15 years ago, he got about 20 needle biopsies in one sitting into his thyroid. Then, of course, there were the 3 surgeries with all those shots. Now he has another kind of cancer that requires a lot of blood tests etc. Needles don't even phase him any more.

The more needles you have had stuck in you, the less it bothers you. I think it's harder and easier on children. Kids are much more touch sensitive. It's also scarier. But kids also adapt better than adults.

Astounding, but at the same time not surprising. These days, in the US EVERYTHING is political. Even matters of public health and life and death. Mind boggling to see both the dept--and the rapidity--of the descent into madness.
 
Oh, and I just got my first jab yesterday (Moderna). Sore deltoid today. I delayed it because my health card had expired (used just once for a clinic visit to get a tenacious bit of grit out of an eye) and I'd lost track of time w.r.t. its expiration.
