I was vaccinated -- I think I've already mentioned this here in one of the threads -- in February (1) and March (2). I got the Moderna vaccine, administered at the VA Hospital on Kingsbridge Road in the Bronx, USA. I don't know about 'political implications,' but Biden beat trump by 83% to 17% in the Bronx last Fall. My wife and I stood on line for two-and-a-half hours to cast our votes. Totally worth it. The only thing we couldn't figure out? trump did a lot better in the Bronx than we expected. A lot better. ;)

I got in pretty early for my age (early April) when the VA opened it up to all vets a few weeks before the state did.

I was going to put out that there is no Planet X option, but those last two kind of are the Planet X option.

I am getting my first shot this week. I would have liked to have gotten it sooner, tbh.

Since the vaccine isn't required by law, I support an individual's right to make a choice. Even if I may not agree with their decision or the reasoning behind it.

Making it about politics seems rather silly to me. But to each their own.
It is not a "political" issue. That only happens in the third world of the USA.

Everything is political. In a post-fact world what but political tribalism is there to fill the void?

Everyone covered; viva science.

Impossible wish
The social contract that evolved to allow the Neolithic Revolution, so-called, to proceed and give birth to modern civilization needs codifying, as the need for tacit social agreements and arrangements remains, yet this is either ignored or poo-pooed, lost in the hub-bub and rush; viz, society and rules, or stone axes that away, out yonder. If "to each his own" -- savage and doing "whatever it takes", instead of civilized and admitting of reasoned compromise -- then each with his own; modern, or naked and steppe- or cave-dwelling.

I have been vaccinated for a few months now. My son, a paramedic/fire fighter, was the first in the family to get the shots. He has several sad stories about those he treated with covid. For those who were dying, my sons face was the last thing they saw.

My other son is vaccinated. His 3 children, ages 14 and 12 are vaccinated, and Gianna, almost 7 yrs, will receive hers in the Fall, before she goes back to school.

One cousin has died of covid, and my sister caught it while in the hospital, but recovered.

I still wear a mask outside while shopping. I didn't go to the big 4th of July barbeque and potluck party we have here, because those who won't be vaccinated and won't wear masks would be all seated together.

I don't feel paranoid, I feel reasonable and cautious. I don't feel it is time yet to lower my guard.

I've no pressing need. I don't mill about in public, in between delivery and curbside, I don't even really shop in public any more. I work from home, alone, so my exposure is quite limited.

I'm likely to wait until September or October if they force me back into the office around that timeframe.

Unless we travel back in time and erase US opposition to the Soviet Union, the US will always be first world.

Because the cold war is over, it is impossible for any third world country to cease being third world.

I kind of understand this.

I have trouble keeping appointments and preferred the ability to just do it on the fly somewhere. Turns out this is easy. I went to Walmart for some basic food shopping and as I was walking by the Pharmacy I noticed a big sign that said Make your vaccination apportionment here. I went to the counter and asked if I could get the vaccine right then. The answer was yes. It took much longer to fill out the form.
And it didn't hurt at all. In fact I didn't know he did it.
15 minutes tops

I've since asked at least five different pharmacies including the one at Safeway if they could give me the vaccine at that moment. Everyone said they could have it done in the next 10 minutes.

Git er done.

Yeah, when I had my second dose the county health center had basically thrown open their doors and were taking walk ins as of that day, and that was a couple of months ago.

Your exposure may be limited, but you are still exposed. As ACbytesla said, you can just walk into most pharmacies and get it right away. "I'll get around to it sometime" could be the worst mistake you ever make. And the last.

4/6/21, 5/5/21 Still awaiting the activation of the microchip that works better than my phone. Also several magnetic compasses claim that I'm not magnetic. But the libs may have gotten to them.

Try a key or bobby pin. These are the only true tests. Don't be fooled by fake commiesocialist science that says any ferromagnetic metals will work.

Yes and the Delta variant is 3 times as deadly. Don't wait. There is no need or credible excuse anymore.

I got the J&J back in late April.

My wife works in a hospital, same with my daughter. They both got it in late Feb, early March. The pharmacy next to the KFC my son used to manage came over and gave them all shots because they were about to expire one day. Out of the blue.

So far my whole family is vaccinated, we haven't lost anyone, and I only know of a handful of people that have gotten it.
