I found this at http:www.fair.org

The Fox reporter who did a report on a white supremacist website without including a single critical voice posted a message on the site's discussion board, saying, "I hope this can show those of you who have little faith in the media that there are journalists who take pride in being factual and unbiased."

Unfortunately, the segment is not available, just a fairly long piece of transcript. It is not clear what this person did was particularly evil.

I get the impression that Fair would critsize any piece on an organization like stormfront unless it passed some sort of Fair defined litmus test.

And I'm having difficulty seeing exactly what the problem is. Why would a critical voice be necessary. It is what it is, let the viewers decide.

I'm also wondering why FOX is being targeted in this. An affiliate is just that; FOX proper has little or no control over what an affiliate airs. If you don't like something about the way the story was presented, blame the affiliate, the news producer, the reporter.

Anb insey bit of bias over there:

When conservatives slant the facts, the Progress Report sets them straight. Subscribe today to the daily newsletter of the American Progress Action Fund and get the right news, not the Right's news.

In addition to the lucid criticisms in the above two posts, consider this: maybe the good folks at Stormfront have a point. Perhaps this Fox affiliate is broadcasting information that its viewers might find... helpful.

Or you can watch the piece here: http://streaming.americanprogress.org/ThinkProgress/2005/stormfront_fox_news.320.240.mov.html

A moderator from Stormfront who uses the handle "Charles A. Lindbergh" claims the website is not racist, and does not spread a message of hate. No dissenting view is presented.

Your slip is showing Dr. Freud, "targetting" ,hmmmm.

Gee ED, I am really suprised that you didn't read just atad more, they report and collect stories that show a media bias. The fast majority of thier stories are just that, when reporters or pundits make unchallenged statements then they report it. When and if the democrats return to power then FAIR will be there.

I am suprised at your lack of discernment on this one, they are not Media Matters after all, and they do report on liberal media bias as well.
