Google censorship

In 2012 I watched Google bury a controversial item.

It was about Charlie Sheen. The night before, on Entertainment Tonight, he said: "911 was an inside job".

Next day, it was the top result for "Charlie Sheen" on all the other search engines. It never got near page one at google search results.

Google's top result for "Charlie Sheen" remained "troubled actor" or some such smoke screen

Oh, there you go... lying again!

So since I'm not American, I'm not a Democrat, but I do watch a reasonable amount of what would be considered left-wing YouTube including the likes of David Pakman, Brian Tyler Cohen, Ring of Fire, and Beau of the Fifth Column. Add to that MSNBC, CNN, and ABC news along with the late-night shows, and any algorithm would pick me as a Left-winger.

Yet you know what, most days there are a number of right-wing channels in my recommended list because most of the time it notes I watch politics-based videos and so gives both. What it doesn't give me are the so-far right they have lost their minds and any contact with reality ones, but you know why? Same reason I can watch a lot of anti-Flat Earth stuff without ending up with a bunch of Flat Earth idiots channels. It's not that YouTube is censoring right-wing voices, it's that they are no longer giving open slather to crazy.

Maybe he shouldn't have put people in danger by making such a reckless and stupid claim, eh?

You know how I decried the use of "reality has a left-wing bias" because it was ridiculous to tie the political to the objective? Well, right now the right-wingers are making that adage (originally, joke) true. You can't avoid left-wing media if you want to have reliable information; not because the left particularily seeks science- or objective-based opinions, but because the right is so batcrap crazy now that it's become the best place to look for news.

Your watch list is almost identical to mine (you should check out Farron Cousins' other channel, "Farron Balanced")

And like you, I also get conservative recommendations (Mark Christiansen, Forbes, Blonde etc)

I actively block the bat-crap crazy ones (OANN, Newsmax, Ben Shapiro, Project Veritas etc) with a browser extension.

Why would a high school dropout (okay, he was kicked out for grades) who makes idiotic claims about 9/11 be believed. 9/11 truth's inside job is the dumbest conspiracy theory. Too bad no one has evidence to support Charlie's delusion, kind of like JFKjr conspiracies, no evidence, only delusions.

I found Charlie's delusions on google, seems like Google failed to censor the fact Charlie has delusions.

Ears and eyes well covered.

More Wow.

Well covered, those eyes and ears.

One could not have asked for a better demonstration of Tippit's signature:

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation."
- Herbert Spencer

I don't know what it is with your fetish with his signature; it can't save your . . . whatever it is you call your posts, and you don't seem to realize how well it applies to your fevered fantasies.

The Herbert Spencer quote is a gem.

You could not be more wrong about who it applies to

Actually, your miserable track record from Q, to the Kraken, to hideous unfounded pedophile accusations (all of this, all of this just a few mouse clicks away) clearly demonstrates you have no understanding of the quote with which you are so enamored.

That* would have been pretty smart of Google's algorithm: Sheen turning 9/11 Twoofer is but one of the many symptoms of his mental troubles, and just a minor, irrelevant one at that. Why should it be top news? The main things to know about Sheen are that a) he once had a successful acting career based on genuine talent and b) he threw it all away on booze and madness to become a "troubled actor".

Drunkards and drug addicts say stupid stuff all the time. None of that nonsense should get prioritized by search engines.

* If at all true. Who would be so foolish as to believe unskeptically the distant memory of an extremely biased internet anonymous known mostly for being extremely wrong on just about everything?

:id:

Beyond your usual- and entirely inconsistent- railing against what you term the 'MSM', is there a factual reason for your dislike of CNN, or is this 'contempt prior to investigation'?
I say inconsistent because you recently linked to a claim from The Sun and the Daily Mail, among many, many others, that you appeared to endorse. (If you don't, then why not accept the critical feedback you got about it? ) As has been pointed out ad nauseam, your opinion of the reliability and accuracy of any particular news outlet is entirely dependent on whether or not they agree with your prior opinions.
There's a term for that. What was it now? Something about 'confirmation'.

Firstly, you're wrong about the source of that quote. It was actually William Paley who said that about 25 years before Spencer was born. William Paley was a Christian apologist, and the quote appeared in his book "A View of the Evidences of Christianity" published in 1794. In fact, Herbert Spencer never wrote or said anything resembling that quote.

Second, I find it hilariously funny that you, of all people, would quote this particular Paley quote, because you, of all the people on this forum, are the one who is least likely to understand what Paley was actually alluding to!
