Propaganda as an excuse? Not me.

We all heard the Hitler-esque propaganda for four years (nice to hear someone admit it) and many people probably have "mental impairments", if that's even a thing.

Problem: the vast majority of us did not storm the Capitol building.

Mental disease is an issue worth considering. Stupidity not so much.

In fact let's make an effort to get rid of the stupid while we can, please.

I don't think stupidity is necessary to believe propaganda, especially when it comes from your government, even more when that government is being run by the people in whom you have been taught to believe. Purposeful ignorance, though, is definitely involved and skews my opinion closer to yours.

Either way, I don't think this defense can be easily dismissed.

Then why did you ask what "manner of death" meant? I was just trying to post some helpful info.

Because you originally asked "I don't know if manner of death has been determined yet, but it sure seems like the investigation into cause is over with."
It literally took 30 seconds to find.

Mike Pence's own brother, who is a member of the House of Representatives, voted against the Jan. 6th Commission. Apparently, Party is thicker than Blood and the fact that his own brother was being hunted by these asshats means little to Greg Pence. He's calling it a "coverup for the failed Biden Administration". WTF?
The brother of former Vice President Mike Pence is defending his House vote against a commission to investigate the violent attack on the United State Capitol that forced his brother into a secured location, calling it a "cover-up for the failed Biden administration."

"I was here with him, he never left his post," U.S. Representative Greg Pence, a Republican from Indiana, told reporters at the Capitol on Thursday. "We impeached the president weeks, days later and now here we are having an investigation? Sounds a little bassackwards, right?"

He really should have put his family where his mouth is and handed his brother over to them.

We know why Democrats oppose a real investigation into the violence at the capitol: It will prove a coordinated Democrat/ANTIFA false-flag operation.

I think we're in no way obliged to humour them.

I’m not saying that we should. I’m just pointing out that someone having what they consider to be knowledge is not necessarily going to enable them to spot misleading propaganda. Propaganda tends to work by tapping into people’s beliefs and predjudices, and many people are quite bad at distinguishing those from knowledge.

Yes but I was pointing out that actual knowledge does enable them to. I'm speaking from our perspective, not theirs.

Following the failure of the Senate to find their spines, the House is going to form a select committee to investigate the insurrection.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Thursday she will create a select committee to investigate the January 6 attack on the Capitol after Republicans blocked the formation of an independent commission.

"I'm sure it will be political because that's the whole way that she's handled it," House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Wednesday following reports Pelosi would move forward with the Select Committee.

Investigating an attempt to subvert the government will be political? Brilliant deduction.

I wonder if McCarthy recognizes the irony of complaining about a Democrat created investigation being "political" when he voted against the bipartisan investigation?

No, he's relying on GOP supporters being woefully underinformed and over-outraged.
