Eric Trump on Fox says random people in the street hug him with tears in their eyes and tell him how much they miss his father.

Do they also call him "Sir"? Are they big strong men who have never cried in their lives, not even when they were babies?

:newlol

The worst thing is that Trumpsters lap this stuff up. They really think they outnumber "libruls" by a large margin (I've seen somthing like 30 to 1). I guess one side-effect of losing the culture war is making up fantasies in which you're really winning.

Poor Eric. He's projecting the hugs he still craves, but never gets, from Daddy.

It's the "Silent Majority" thing that Reagan started (or at least popularized) and yeah the Proudly Wrong eat it up.

"Don't worry there's a huge invisible population of people that secretly agree with you."

The whole "voice for the voiceless" shtick doesn't look pretty on anyone (even the few times there's a legitimate 'voiceless' group).

Ivanka Trump Is Now Under Criminal Investigation In New York

Ivanka, Don Jr., and Eric Trump are all under criminal investigation as the state of New York is investigating the entire Trump Organization.

The New York attorney general’s office said Tuesday that it is pursuing a criminal investigation into the Trump Organization, in addition to the ongoing civil probe.

“We have informed the Trump Organization that our investigation into the organization is no longer purely civil in nature. We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA. We have no additional comment at this time,” Fabien Levy, a spokesperson for the office, said in a statement.

The state investigation is looking at the criminal activity of the entire Trump Organization, which includes Trump and his adult children.

Ivanka Trump was already under suspicion for potential tax crimes related to her role in the jacking up of hotel prices at the Trump Hotel in DC for Trump’s inauguration.

"I have a really hot girlfriend, but she goes to another school so that's why you've never seen her."

There was a French comedy show called Kaamelott which was a King Arthur comedy with 3 and a half minute episodes (like, hundreds of them). Really funny stuff if you can understand the heavily-exaggerated French verbiage.

Anyway in this one episode one of the knights of the round table, who is assumed by everyone to be gay for a number of reasons, is asked to summon his wife, which no one belives he has, to a meeting of the wives of the round table (some nonsense the queen came up with). Of course he finds excuses for her (she is sick during long travels) and she doesn't show, which seems to confirm everyone's suspicions. In the end we see him alone with his wife who is indeed sick from the travel... and she is by far the most sunningly beautiful actress on the show.

I don't know. It made me think of that.

Donald Trump, the gimcrack president?

While looking up gimcrack, I found the following definitions and synonyms

Showy
Gaudy
Loud
Flimsy but deceptively attractive
Tawdry
A showy object of little value or use
Tacky
Tasteless
Shoddy
Brassy (adj showy and loud in appearance or manner)

Would it be incorrect to use any of these words to describe Trump?

I only have a question about the highlighted.

Well, to 75 million he is.

Weak person’s idea of a strong person.
Stupid person’s idea of a smart person.
Yadda, yadda

It's just been revealed that Bill Barr's DOJ secretly obtained two month's (June/July 2017) worth of CNN reporter Barbara Starr's personal home and cell phones and email records. She was just informed of this recently by letter. This was the second time that a reporter's records were secretly obtained who worked for an organization that Trump considered a 'fake news enemy', the other being the WAPO in 2017. So much for the First Amendment and Freedom of the Press under Trump.

ETA: It wasn't just one WAPO reporter's phone records that were obtained, it was several reporters' phone records.

What on earth was the probable cause for the warrant? If it was (cough) trumped up, shouldn't the lawyers who shoveled manure to the judge be disciplined? Do the reporters have access to the warrant, and can they sue either the DOJ or the individuals responsible?

I think (speculate) that a lot of this evidence was out there but being suppressed or ignored by Barr's department. And as far as subpoenas they were ignored by Trump so there is that.

The *purpose* was almost certain to be based on hunting down leakers. I can't comment on specific claimed probable cause, though, or add information about any of the rest.
