I don't think the question is whether Gates knew about Epstein's sex crimes. As you said, there was a lot that was publically known at the time.

I think the questions are whether the divorce was actually triggered by Gates' meeting with Epstein, and if so, what the rational was (for example did Melinda think Bill was somehow involved in the seedier side of things, or was she just worried about the couple's reputation.)

Gates has said that he met with Epstein in connection with possible charitable donations or a new charitable foundation, and was never involved in anything else. Believe Gates or not, it appears that Epstein was extraordinarily skillful at roping in the rich and famous, and of course, each one of them would serve as an introduction to the next: "Mr. Gates, you don't know me but my friend Bill Clinton suggested I give you a call...."

The odd thing to me with these cases, be it Epstein, Weinstein, Rolfe, Cosby, Glitter, Saville.

Every one knows most people close knew what was going on, yet no one did anything.

Always thought it makes those people a bit in colussion in a way.
