A legislative intern whose rape allegation against an Idaho state representative led to an investigation that resulted in his resignation last week was publicly named by a conservative media outlet, despite her desire to remain anonymous.

...

In fact, Jane Doe's identity already had been made public, when correspondence from one of von Ehlinger's previous attorneys that included her name was published by a conservative news site. That report was further publicized by Republican state Rep. Priscilla Giddings, who linked to it via social media and her official constituent newsletter.

Idaho Republicans extracting their pound of flesh from an intern that dared report a rape at the hands of a Republican lawmaker.

The increasingly insane GOP... That's practically my go-to response to anything they do these days. The key word being "increasingly." Indeed, accelerating. How far into the depths of depravity can a political party plunge? It's both frightening and fascinating to see this all happen in front of one's eyes.

Idaho. About as red a state as you can get and full of right-wing, white supremacist militias, especially the northern part.

Rep. Priscilla Giddings should be censured and suspended by the Ethics Committee for her egregious behavior.

To give an example of just how weird Idaho can be:

Rep. Heather Scott, R-Blanchard, said critical race theory has been "creeping through our schools forever." To prove it, she shared an example from a Boise-area substitute teacher that she heard from.

"'To Kill a Mockingbird.' [The substitute teacher] said the message is made clear: white people are bad, black people are innocent victims, and the students were encouraged to believe that there was an endless era of black victimization. That's being taught down here," Scott said.
The third-term Republican cited the book about a Black man being put on trial in Jim Crow-era Alabama after being falsely accused of rape by a white woman as evidence of critical race theory in schools.

Giddings helped lead the successful fight against the teaching of CRT in Idaho schools. It's socialism, dontcha know? FYI: Idaho is 90% white with a 0.69% Black population.

I'd be glad to see a group like Bellingcat turn their attentions on those attacking this poor woman. It might teach their kind a lesson.

They fear a world in which white men with power are no longer able to do things like rape an intern and have it swept under the rug or dismissed as boyish naughtiness.

*Shakes my head* Cancel Culture strikes again.

**** them. Go Chicago Rules. Find an Idaho Republican banging some young guy or an underage girl, out him, tear his family apart. Ruin his life. Dems are too damn nice.

I like watching their death spiral. I just hope they don't drag the United States down with it.

Doxxing a rape victim.

Can the Repugnicans stoop any lower?

I'm just glad the ex-Führer wannabe isn't on Twitter or Facebook anymore. He'd probably have joined in.

One of my best friends is an older black dude from Idaho. He told me he lived in the "Black neighborhood". Whe I asked how big it was he replied, "Us and the neighbor".

Yep, behave like them makes you the same as them. Not the desired outcome.

Not that I am advocating singing Kumbaya as a response. But I would be making a barn full of hay of the fact that the local GOP have been giant sloppy hypocritical turds about this. Every TV and social media opportunity should be turned into an opportunity to decry this low act by the GOP. Say this means not to ever trust them to behave responsibly. The GOP say they stand for privacy, but this is how they really behave when it comes down to it. Lather, rinse, repeat as often as possible.

I don't understand how, in 2021, anyone can still imagine hypocrisy to be a negative thing for Republicans. They don't care. For them it's just about their side versus the other side. Right, wrong, justice, ideals, morals, ethics, decency...none of those mean anything at all. The only thing that matters is fighting the enemy at all times on everything. If a Democrat tries to save a child from drowning a good Republican will shoot that Democrat and the child, poison the river, then spread rumors the child's family were communist spies, and probably in a sexual relationship. And questioning that narrative is disloyalty and will get you death threats.

I think the goal is to try to break through to 'low information' citizens who don't pay enough attention to know how outright evil the GOP has become.

Of course their evil being as cartoonish as in the OP doesn't help because it's so unbelievable.

Also, 'something something, Bill Clinton, fake media, I'm a big boy free thinker.'
