Ed Corona Virus Conspiracy Theories....

One's chances of dying in a car crash are astronomically higher than one's chances of dying from a vaccine. Hell, one's chances of dying from watching Star Crash are probably nearly as bad as dying from a vaccine.

Anti-vaxxer logic has always amounted to little more than "I have right to be a stupid idiot who chooses a .00000000001% risk over a .00001% risk" just reworded over and over.

With the antivaxxers the "answer" is usually some vague illusion to "they just magically went away because of sanitation improvements."

Ah, the classics. Sometimes they'll defer to better medicine overall, which clearly doesn't jibe with the "big pharma as villain" meme. Sometimes they'll say we have better diets, which makes me laugh.

Consistency isn't a strong trait with CTs.

Yeah, that's partly why I mentioned the good old BBC earlier: that Marc Riley and that Iggy Pop, among others, have clearly programmed me to go and buy more music...

The Beeb? Yeah, that used to have a reputation once upon a long ago. I hear that it is not so well regarded these days. How true is that? I don't care enough to dip back in.

And that is the point. Caroline somehow thinks all of us are zombie-like glued to the TV. And we are not.

So I am aware of the Beeb, Sky, Pox, CNN and so forth. I know they exist. I don't watch them or give a flying **** about them or whatever crap (not "cwap" LOL) they churn out.

ETA: The claim of magic ELF amuses me. Given that radio and telecomms is my primary degree. Caroline is basically claiming that fairies are real. It is to laugh.

Same here. It's beyond ludicrous. The problem is that CT people just put down whatever sounds good and aligns with what crazy crap they want to believe. Reminds me of the Inquisition except that they don't have that level of power. Yet.

Yesh. the real ELF has such turgid transmission speed that if Caroline's notion was true, then TV would have had to exist for thousands of years before one could manage a single word. Sure, subs use it de riguer, but it ain't fast.

And then there is the problem of technology moving on. As an early adopter of fibre in the home, I struggle to figure out why anyone would do that. Technically, I suppose one could, but ******* why?

In March, 2020 some of the expert bemoaned the inevitable outcome of the lock-downs by (accurately) predicting that critics would point to the low death rates as proof that COVID-19 was no big deal while ignoring the obvious effect the lock-down actually had on fatalities. This has proven to be the case, and even after multiple lock-downs forced by rising numbers cause by relaxed restrictions the troglodytes still refuse to accept the obvious. This year's flu season's fantastically low numbers underline the effectiveness of masks and social distancing...and yet the morons persist.

She's a paid shill for Big Virus? Dunno, I'm Just Asking Questions.
No, as I've pointed out before, she's actually shilling for Big Supp - the multibillion-dollar global supplement industry whose goal it is to bleed you of money for the rest of your life by selling you fake and ineffective pseudopharmeceuticals under the guise of the nonsense idea of "wellness", which it wants you to believe that you cannot possibly achieve without a steady tithe into their gigantic coffers.

Not to mention an entire country's attitude to plastic and waste was transformed overnight by one hour of TV.

TV does contain a lot of mindless pap, but it can also do the 'educate and inform' as well as entertain. Caroline may enjoy her supercilious sneering about other people's choices, but her assumption that only she is capable of sifting out the gold dust from the dross is unfounded.

She's as big a cultural fascist as she is a health one. Only her choices are acceprable, no other choices are allowed, the freedoms she insists she wants for herself are not ones she wants to allow others.

No-one, absolutely no-one, is preventing her from making her life choices, but what she doesn't get is that a) no-one cares and b) freedom of choice is universal. She doesn't get to choose what choices other people make. Hectoring, belittling and demonising those who exercise their right to choose their medicine, their media, whatever, is just more hypocrisy.

To be clear, the claim was that CE personally knew multiple people who died as a result of masking and social distancing.

Since that's not feasible to prove, I've welcomed CE to provide evidence that anyone in the world has died due to these causes. To no avail of course because it's obviously rank bs.

Thanks for the clarification.
I do think it would be possible to prove this, though.
In the UK, deaths are recorded, and the cause is listed: I assume this is the same in Germany. It would presumably be quite straightforward to obtain the figures where 'keeping 2 metres apart' or 'wearing a mask' were listed as the cause of death.
How about it, CE?

I like watching cooking programmes, particularly Masterchef and the Great British Menu.
I have not come away feeling more inclined to obey authority (apart from Michel Roux Jr! If he says it needs more seasoning, then it needs more seasoning!), nor has Dr Fauci made an appearance.
The only effect I have noticed so far is that I made my first veloute sauce last week. The Evil Them, sorry- (((Evil Them)))- must be rubbing their hands with glee.
"Ah, the FOOLS! See how I have brainwashed them into making good food! WOOHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *cough* Oy vey. WOOHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

I'm really not sure: some of the news and current affairs coverage annoys me as it seems to be slanted towards the Tories (see Kuensberg and Robinson's, even Evan Davies', lack of decent questions to government figures), but the Right see it as irredeemably lefty. Mebbe they are still somewhere in the middle...

Naaaaaah, it's biased right of centre; many issues which might concern someone of a lefty/green/socially liberal turn of mind are ignored.

Mind, I suspect some of the not questioning gubbmint figures as hard as I would like is more to do with not wanting to scare the poor dears off: the number of times one hears phrases like "The Department of Avoiding Questions was asked to comment or put up a representative for interview, but didn't answer their phones 'cos we aren't Lex Greensill" is revealing.

Still, some of the more documentary slots on Radio 4 can be good and 6 Music and Radio 3 are worth it for music.

Ted Nugent before he contracted covid...
"They claim five hundred thousand people have died from COVID-19. ********. I believe that medical examiners in all 50 states have gone, ‘I put down on the death certificate that he died of asphyxiation, but they made me put COVID
...
It's not a real pandemic and that's not a real vaccine. I'm sorry, I ain't taking no vaccine."

After he contracted covid...
I tested positive ... I thought I was dying

A frothing imbecile learns something, whatever. But then news reports called out Nugent's prior statements. That made Ted mad!

"Saying that I claimed COVID-19 was a hoax. False. I’ve always said… We have actually footage of me saying, if not hundreds, thousands of times… Of course there’s a Chinese virus. Hello? Who thinks that I claimed there’s no Chinese… There’s a Chinese virus. They call it COVID-19. I’m well aware of that.”
Re-writing history is quite the thing lately.

Again in a post fact world massive intellectual inconsistency to the point that it feels almost quaint to call it mere "hypocrisy" is probably the most useful personality trait someone can have, what's the issue? What did he do wrong?

Covid was fake when he didn't have it, it's real when he did. Without doing something crazy like pretending "facts" are a thing that exists, what did he do wrong? He did what got him what he wanted in the moments he wanted it. Where's the issue?

Sadly, that's among the least ****** things Ted Nugent has said.
