Ed Corona Virus Conspiracy Theories....

Yes I know it's a Skeptic group but EVERYONE on a forum thinking the same, don't believe anything, what do they believe....probably believe there is no moon or sun or stars...

Oh I got it, you all believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause and the boogey man.

That's nonsensical. Firstly, everyone on this forum does not think the same. But most of us agree on the effectiveness of the scientific method and the standards of evidence that must be met to establish the reliability of any claim about objective reality. If a bunch of people told someone that ingesting industrial bleach was a bad idea, is their consensus really a bad thing - just an example of mindless group think?

Second, the notion that we don't believe in anything, simply because we don't believe what you believe is completely irrational. You're just inventing straw men, like when you had the gall to call me a misogynist because I don't agree with your unsupported nonsense.

And finally, what really strikes me as funny is that there is a lot of overlap between conspiracy theories. Many of the people who claim that COVID-19 is a hoax are also people who believe that the earth is flat and that the sun, moon and stars are either just a few thousand miles away, or are some sort of illusory projection. Hell, some of the sources cited in support of the ideas you're pushing believe that the world is in the grips of shape-shifting alien reptiles, or that the holocaust never happened. And I'll bet most regular members here know a hell of a lot more about astrophysics than you do, so I wouldn't even go there.

When you start making up such utterly ridiculous straw men, it demonstrates your frustration regarding you're inability to offer any sort of reasoned defense of your claims. I'm sure you've been this way most of your life - any time you can't get people to agree that you're right, it's because they obviously don't believe that fire is hot, or that the sky is (usually) blue.

No way will I stay off the lists that I believe, where would I go to: Biden, Fauci, et al... No way, I was NEVER there.
That's obvious enough. What are you afraid of? Some of us have done you the courtesy of opening and reading your links. In fact, judging from some of your comments, some of us may have read your links more carefully than you do.

Sceptics accept claims for which there is objective evidence (with the proviso that this acceptance should be revisited should new evidence be forthcoming). They keep an open mind on claims for which there is no objective evidence for or against, and reject those which have objective evidence against them (with the proviso that this rejection should be revisited should new evidence be forthcoming).

Nearly all your beliefs appear to fall into the third category, which is why you are not making any headway on this forum.

Glad I could help.

Do you see YOURSELF in this commentary from a Wise Member of another group I enjoy and they enjoy me.

(((The following is merely anecdotal. But this is what I have observed, in my countless experiences fending off mask wearers and needle nerds. Invariably, those who are pro-mask and pro-vac are those who watch TV regularly/daily. And they are the most rabid, the most non-sensical, the most anti-true science, the most unapproachable, and the most unreasonable. Downright irrational behaviors. These people do NOT want a discussion on the topic. That's because their conditioning is in full bloom. And that conditioning (subliminal messaging) is being delivered 24/7 on the TV signal via an ELF carrier wave. Such conditioned people react violently when their traditions are ignored or exposed. I have documented the very dates and locations at NZ and Australia when that equipment first went live (hint: it was over 30 years ago).

Caroline, please answer this simple question – Do you believe the highlighted statement above is true?

No way will I stay off the lists that I believe

So you only listen to those who tell you what you want to believe?

EVERYONE on a forum thinking the same

You should read some of the threads. We rarely agree on anything. But that doesn't mean we can't come to similar conclusions based on the evidence.

You still haven't answered my questions about vaccines. What are you afraid of?

Well, no one here believes you. We also don't believe anyone who tells us there are such creatures as the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause and boogey men. Our disbelief of you and them is the same the product of the same thing. You're in the same group as anyone who would claim that there is a Santa Clause.

Caroline has a mad idea that we are all of us glued to TV. Her evidence of this appears to be the simple fact that she is wrong and has made that claim up from whole cloth

Speaking for myself, I went years without any TV.

Caroline doesn't care about that and insists that we are all programmed by channels that we cannot recieve, by means of ELF that cannot be transmitted anyway.

Telecomms being my primary degree, I know for a fact that this notion is a load.

Caroline doesn't care.

I haven't watched television in years, and haven't gotten my news from it in decades.

OK, I afraid of Pharma and vaccines. Avoid it all as best I can. I'm really not afraid, as I've taken control of what I do with my life and without MOST of pharma....I said MOST.

How do YOU? I've been around over 8 decades and have done a lot of thinking and Life.... How long have you been around? Just curious I guess.

I listen to the experts in their fields, and consult peer review journals when necessary.

I've been around for 250 years.

Sure. TV simply is not the crutch that Caroline claims it is. Frankly, I have no clue why she makes such a daft claim.

Now, I will gladly admit that I laid in a home cinema rig with surround sound and all, because I am a scifi hound as are my kids. Of a random evening, we curl up on the couch equipped with copious snacks and imbibe the latest scifi/fantasy malarkey. Amusingly, we will often call utter bollocks on whichever movie and adjourn to whatever else, be it a board game or anything else. A random pub quiz perhaps taking place in the nearby maybe. A round of Gin-Rummy perhaps? Or they can accept the challenge of my "Wall of Puzzles". Yes I have one of those. A slot is occupied by a Rubik cube. My eldest is frustrated by the fact that I can do it in under 30 seconds. And he cannot.

Oddly, we have bible readings. This happened after separation from my holy rcc ex-wife, of course. They asked me. I told them to read the daft book.

Now, I carefully ensured that my kids would have all the weaponry to hand to deal with the load of bollocks that internet wingnuts wheel out. I did invite both to join, but it was the wingnuts that put them off. Wingnuts like our protagonist du jour.

It's simple projection (pun). My friends and I have parents in their 80's. TV plays a much greater role in their lives than it does in ours.
