Oh, I understand as much as anybody what Tom's spiel is (meaning, I'm not sure even Tom has really thought it through). What I'm struggling with is why he keeps contradicting himself.
I think it's pure contrarianism, and if he can't find anyone else to disagree with, he resorts to disagreeing with himself.

Yeah, my point was that Tom's scoffing at news of new variants is not his way of implying that such things do not exist, it's that to him they are not emerging due to natural selection but obviously just contrived as the next step in Fauci's plot to become God-emperor of enslaved America in perpetuity.

I mean, I appreciate that as looney stories go it needs quite a lot of retconning before it reaches even very-bad-movie standard: We don't see how Fauci managed to contrive this plague, nor who else is in on it and why Fauci gets to be the boss and not them, nor how he assembled an army of henchmen to do the dirty work worldwide or what their motivation might be for helping. We don't even know where his secret underground lair is.

Tom may tell us someday if he gets bored enough or we don't pay enough attention.

Again, reaching 8? years of age is not by any means remarkable in this period of modern medicine. Maybe if you and others who follow your practices start living regularly past 100, you'll have something. But right now, that's not so impressive.

Even further, most of us actually have taken medication for whatever ails us. The difference between us and Caroline is that we stop when we are better. Caroline's belief will have her addicted to those pointless supplements she shills FOREVER.

It is akin to the fundie belief that gawd created us flawed with "original sin" built in.
 
I just came across these folks, clearly the classy community conscience of Brandon, Vermont. I'm sure Caroline can get some good ammunition off the signs (but be careful, because I think deep down in the fine print they may believe in global warming!).

Get angry and rage against the unpleasant reality, rather. That's a bit different than fighting against pleasantness, even if that might be a consequence. Emotions operate in a somewhat different way than reason does, after all.
