Police video shows the 13 year old was not holding a gun when he was shot.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-56768217

The policeman shouts: "Police! Stop! Stop right [expletive] now! Hands! Hands! Show me your [expletive] hands!"

The boy turns and raises his hands. The officer shouts "Drop it" and fires his weapon - 19 seconds after exiting his squad car.

Separate CCTV footage appears to show the teenager throwing something through a gap in the fence as the officer runs up to him. Bodycam video shows officers shining a light on a handgun behind the wooden fence after the shooting.

This is like Daniel Shaver. Even doing as instructed and cooperating may result in being shot;

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/apr/15/chicago-police-shooting-adam-toledo-video-released

"The authorities had initially indicated that Toledo had a gun in his hand as he turned towards officers during the chase, after failing to obey commands to stop.
But video released on Thursday showed Toledo stopping as the officer shouts after him, turning and putting his hands up, with no sign of any weapon. The boy is then shot in the chest by the officer from a short distance away."

The incident happened over 2 weeks ago and we only know the truth now, as the BWV footage is released.

Last week, the beginning of an explosive corruption trial involving eight members of Baltimore's elite Gun Trace Task Force revealed that a handful of Baltimore cops allegedly kept fake guns in their patrol cars to plant on innocent people—a failsafe they could use if they happened to shoot an unarmed suspect.

Detective Maurice Ward, who's already pleaded guilty to corruption charges, testified that he and his partners were told to carry the replicas and BB guns "in case we accidentally hit somebody or got into a shootout, so we could plant them."

Of course. Black people learned that they have to be very careful around police so they learned to be compliant. Of course that made it harder for police to reach their dead ****** quota so they had to adapt.

Does anyone have a list or links of times people have been shot or hurt by police while they were complying with orders and/or videos showing multiple cops giving contradictory orders at the same time? I've been searching but can't seem to get the right keywords. Just wondering if anyone has already done this.

I constantly see on social media "If you just comply with police you'll be fine and you can sue later if you were wronged." and would like some concrete facts to show why that is not a clearcut solution.

Loveland, Colorado police arrest a woman with dementia for shoplifting.

One might think that the cops would notice this woman has a problem.

I only saw the body cam but this one was a justified shooting. The boy turned and the officer fired in less than a second. The boy had the weapon through the chase. I'm sure others will disagree.

One thing we can all agree on is that the family's lawyer sucks. She's awful. I saw her on AC 360 last night and I don't know how she could have been worse. Contradicted herself multiple times and came off like a lunatic.

He was unarmed when he was shot. There is nothing else that matters.

So just lets mobs loot and burn and don't try to stop them.
I think what you advocate will lead to anarchy. But maybe that what you want.
A lot of silliness on the left side of the political specturm.

You can try to redirect them. Just not subdue them for the purpose of flexing state power.

It isn't advocating anarchy as much as recognizing that the state does such a bad job at serving the interests of groups of people while leaving them little practical means to address will result in civil unrest.

Your choice is not order v. temporary chaos. Your choice is temporary chaos v. police actions that escalate and provoke further demonstrations. When there is such unrest the best practice is to redirect it from the most vulnerable targets, let the anger burn out, and then address why the state has made that many people that mad and reform it.

Otherwise welcome to failed state status with a government that exists not to meet the needs of the people but solely to maintain power.

Please tell me they called the trucks to the stand.

That would almost make it all worth it.

The reason they charge the property rather than it's owner is that they don't need to give property a fair trial or indeed any trial at all. They can just declare it guilty, seize it and sell it to fund county expenses without ever going to court.

Hypothetically, if the police seize a talking car, would the car be allowed to testify?

If a soldier shot a surrendering man it would be a War Crime.

The boy stopped and turned with his hands up and open to show he had dropped the gun.

Boy turns around.

He might have a gun, they shoot him.

Boy refuses to turn around.

He might have a gun, they shoot him.

Run, get shot.
resist, get shot.
Comply, get shot.
Get shot even when they are tasering you.
