And, I'm not suggesting Caroline is, but one way to be wrinkle-free is being overweight. Also, yes it is possible to boogie with arthritis!

Conspiracy theorists often call themselves sceptics, though their reality denial has nothing in common with genuine scepticism. Caroline would not be the first person to have been misled by this into thinking her ignorant fantasies would be well received here.

Apparently she wasn't expecting the Conventional Wisdom Groupthink
Forum.

Groupthink, did you say that when the teacher got everyone to agree 2+2 was 4 four and not banana? Plus, this is not the humor sub-forum.

why are you stuck posting in this sub-forum - read the sub-forum's title, and also the thread's title - lol -

I expect flat earthers dismiss the idea that the world is round as groupthink too. I can see the appeal of believing that you're one of The Chosen Few Who Know The Truth, especially to those too lazy to put in the work necessary to acquire actual knowledge.

How many flat-earthers are there? I don't know any.

Better examples of Groupthink would be Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Covidism, and other major religions.

And as we all know, if Tom Palven hasn't personally experienced something, we can be assured it doesn't exist.

Flat earthers are out there. Take a look at YouTube, or look up flat earth websites. They're typically narcissists who think they're smarter than everyone else, and their cosmological gnostic cult becomes the foundation for their sense of superiority. Often they make the mistake of engaging in debate regarding the nature of the universe, expecting it to go according to a script they've imagined in their heads. But they soon have their ignorance and lack of critical thinking skills laid bare for all to see. That's when they double down on astoundingly stupid arguments, like claiming that entire scientific fields are giant, global conspiracies, or mindlessly repeating claims that have been demonstrated to be false - because they're too pathetic to admit error without feeling deep narcissistic shame. They also frequently disparage science as the "real" dogmatic religion, because of their tendency to engage in psychological projection as a means of distracting attention from their own deficiencies.

Better examples of Groupthink would be Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Covidism, and other major religions.

Again, just so everyone can watch you evade the question and confirm that you know you're wrong, but just can't bring yourself to admit it - do Christianity, Islam or Judaism have the global support of a massive scientific consensus backing them up?

Poppycock.
You only have to look at this exchange:

Is that so? With arthritis?

To be fair, it is entirely possible to dance with arthritis. Especially if one has been handling some level of pain for 40 years.

And, I'm not suggesting Caroline is, but one way to be wrinkle-free is being overweight. Also, yes it is possible to boogie with arthritis!

So, Tom, which do you claim is the 'groupthink' evident in that little exchange?
Can you or can you not dance with arthritis? Seems like there's a disagreement here. It's not an especially important one, but it does show that, even with a minor thing like this, there are differences of opinions.

By the way, you haven't yet answered a single one of my questions, despite saying you would. Refusing to actually deal with the topic, and simply personally attacking the people who disagree with you, is unlikely to be productive. Has this approach worked for you in the past?

That disagreement was fabricated in an attempt to distract Tom Palven from the Groupthink conspiracy. It did not work. Tom is too smart for us. He has figured out that this website was created 20 years ago for the sole purpose of using the concept of critical thinking to indoctrinate the gullible with our special version of Groupthink. Real critical and independent thinkers will, of course, not be fooled for one second. But he is too late! Soon our Groupthink will have encompassed the globe and he will be a lone and futile voice crying in the wilderness. We have already won!!

And of course you can dance with arthritis, provided arthritis is agreeable to dancing with you.

The proper term is "Corona's Witnesses".

Hey, since Tom is obviously afraid to address the overwhelming scientific consensus, you're certainly welcome to do so. Are all the world's medical science professionals part of a faith-based religion that blinds them to the reality that COVID-19 is just a common cold?

Oh, and while we're at it, how many people do you know who have been made seriously ill or who have died from measures taken to slow the spread of COVID-19?
