We are clearly a minority in this state.

Every weekend I have to deal with tourists from the Central Valley who refuse to wear their masks, and lecture me about how it's all a hoax. Last November a young couple checked into the motel and were shocked - SHOCKED - that Monterey was strictly observing COVID-19 protocols.

The girlfriend said, "You mean all the restaurants are closed?"
The boyfriend replied, "We have the same rules too but the city doesn't enforce them."

I heard hundreds of variations of that conversation throughout 2020 in the course of my job in hospitality. So I apologize. I know not everyone in the state isn't a moron, but it seems like wise people are outnumbered here. And frankly I'm very tired. Every day I go to work wondering if this is the day I meet the person who gives me and my family COVID-19? It has worn me down a lot. Hopefully you can understand my perspective.

Oh, and every year local health departments and the CDC issue the same guidelines to avoid getting the flu: wash your hands, cough into your elbow, and if your sick - stay home.

The thing you ignore is that if you've contracted the flu it is because SOMEONE GAVE YOU THE VIRUS. Yes, people die from the flu. That would bother normal people. We now know what Flu Season looks like when people act responsibly to a viral outbreak.

COVID-19 has only been in the human population since summer, 2019. Research is ongoing. The last time we saw this level of INTERNATIONAL engagement was when HIV/AIDS surfaced in the 1980s. With AIDS we saw the same reactions: Vilify/blame the victims, ignore safety precautions. And then AIDS spread into the hetrosexual community, and panic set in. Things went from, "Who cares, it's a gay disease?" to, "OMG! Why isn't the government doing anything about this?". The sad thing is that 30 years later people still contract AIDS even with all of the information available on how to avoid it.

This does not bode well for COVID-19, which will be around for a long time in mutated forms.

I am a skeptic- I very seriously question and doubt whether anyone who thought that Deoxyribonucleic Acid is some kind of preservative is someone who actually knows what the **** they are talking about.

I'm going to conclude that your refusal to address the problem of the massive world-wide conspiracy involving virtually every healthcare professional on earth implied by your pet conspiracy theory as a tacit admission that you've fully realized just how stupid and indefensible said theory really is, but that you are simply too obstinate to admit it.

For those who think that Coronavirus is "not all it's cracked up to be" I would like to point out that deaths in the United States topped 500,000 today.

Five hundred thousand dead people. Half a million. Tell them that the virus isn't all it's cracked up to be. Go on.

I think the thing that irritates me most about that childish "I thought you guys were skeptics!" thing is the way that the people who parrot it never seem inclined to doubt their own claims, or even to seriously question them. Skepticism starts at home, it's not a good look to demand people accept what you claim on a basis that you haven't applied yourself.

Kind of the same thing with this protracted and lame "gotcha!" attempt to frame people accepting what the science says as equivalent to people who don't care what science says; "what's something atheists really hate? Oh, I know- it's being told they are acting just like fundy Christians! Hur hur, that'll get 'em!" It doesn't make any sense at all, beyond a sort of "I know you are but what am I?" sense, but third-grade tactics don't have to make sense when their only purpose is to continually distract from the failure to address the faults in their own faith.

This is the most recent info from Dr. Makary at Johns Hopkins...I don't know how it could be true as I'm accused of posting false info, but how false Dr. Makary is, you all may want to read. Heard from other sources today that we could be there now, but who knows about all the numbers we're told.

More was discussed today, and the gang who follow Lord Fauci do not want the population to know this as that gang is pushing for continued masking, closures and vaccines.. So mainstream MDs are told NOT to discuss how close we are to Herd Immunity.

Do more research folks, it's well over a year of this insanity.
