Does Matter Really Exist?

Speak for yourself. I am the monsterous spawn of my parents' loins, not their Ids.

Genetics Iacchus, genetics.
We are all part of this conscious experience, called life. There would be no means for us to interact with each other without our id-entities. ;)

What, would you have me teach you how to step into another dimenson? ... In your dreams! :D

No, I'd rather see you demonstrate "how to step into another dimension."

Shoot, if you can do that, why not apply for the Challenge? C'mon, don't try & tell us you have no use for a cool million!

Well, when the time comes that you can accept that the mystic is none other than you, you will need no proof.

I am the mystic?:jaw-dropp

Excuse me folks, gotta go hit the books and research my "Disappear Iacchus" spell. If I can pull this off, I'll be the most popular poster on the Forum!

It's a given that what we perceive is a 3 dimensional space, 1 dimension time reality.

Thank Ed for the 3, since that makes force of gravity follow an inverse square law and allows for stable orbits at the cosmological scale.

Time is a mystery, but it is inextricably entwined with mass.

Physicists are currently searching for 'other dimensions'; M-Theory postulates 11 in total. Some interpret their existence as being very very tiny, although there is also discussion that one or more might actually be very very large.

Yes, and very much the idealist. Because you cannot prove anything outside of what your mind tells you.

My mind tells me that you are suffering from a massive case of cranio-rectal inversion. And, by your reasoning, if my mind tells me that it must be so!

i·de·al·ist ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-d-lst)
n.

1. One whose conduct is influenced by ideals that often conflict with practical considerations.
2. One who is unrealistic and impractical; a visionary.
3. An artist or writer whose work is imbued with idealism.
4. An adherent of any system of philosophical idealism.

Well, that definition certainly describes Iacchus, especially the "unrealistic and impractical" part. I fail to see how you can apply it to me. . .

Yes, but what is it that does the perceiving, if not something from another (higher) dimension? Also, would this not imply that the dimensions of time and space are merely supplemental, in that the higher dimensions (which are not visible by means of time and space) have always existed, prior to that? Otherwise how do you account for the appearance of time and space, when in fact there was none before? ... Something from nothing perhaps?

Or, you just have the tendency to over anal-yze things?

Prove it to whom? To that part of you which the behaviorists say doesn't really exist? You see, this is where the mysticism comes in. ;)

Prove it to anyone you like. Just, for once in your existence, provide a straight answer to a <rule 8>ing question!
