Sda fact is a number of people in the GOP have totally embraced authoratraisim.
They want power, and if that means destroying democracy, so be it.
Which press conference was this?

10 House GOPers voted to impeach this time. Now I suppose you'll say that isn't bipartisan enough. When there is bipartisan support to do so. <snip>
What were you evacuating from? I mean, a current EV has what, 300 miles range? What would you be evacuating from where 300 miles could not get you out of harm's way? OK, you might have to make a night stop before reaching the comforts of relatives, but ...
Hans
I think there's something like 300 miles of range from a full charge. As I understand it, a full charge can take a significant amount of time with a home charger (depending on your vehicle and setup).
It seems very plausible that an evacuation order could come when someone just got home and their battery was particularly low.
Length of charging itself is not problem, actually. You have to straighten legs, go to toilet, eat something in middle of long, long journey anyway. That will take half a hour at least.
Regardless of any other reason why they want him to not hold office, what happenedIt will be yet another waste of taxpayer dollars.
Political, they need him to not be a candidate. I think you know why and it has nothing to do with a riot at the Capitol building.
Lack of bipartisan agreement does not necessarily mean that something is merely political or partisan. When there is bipartisan support to do so. Unless both parties agree that a crime has been committed the impeachment proceeding is only political.

And you're a very saavy and smart person for owning one. I've seen a few in my area too. The Nissan Leaf is a cool little car and more reasonably priced than a Tesla.
According to an article from December, Nissan has sold about 148K here is the US. That would cover roughly 1/5th of the Biden voters in my home state of Kentucky. Everyone else would still be driving a gasoline or diesel powered automobile. So production will need to be stepped up before we can move away from fossil fuels.
I expect the Biden Admin to have some sort of Government backed rebate for purchase of a new EV. And I'm all for it. Currently waiting to see how much the US taxpayer would like to chip in on a new EV for myself.
30% would be nice but I'd accept more of course. I'll need something with a big trunk space to fit in all that free money.![]()
Well, charging time IS a problem. I just don't think exactly evacuation is such a problem. Hurricanes are usually predicted several days ahead, and that seems to be the only thing that could press the range of a modern EV to the limit.
Anyway ... no, the infrastructure is not quite there. There is a chicken and egg problem.
Hans
What breathtakingly stupid reasoning.
Don't kid yourself Chris. A major reason people buy the Tesla is the amazing performance. The acceleration is better than just aboit any internal combustion engine vehicle. It will throw you back in your seat.
No it isn't.It will be yet another waste of taxpayer dollars.
Censuring is not punishment. It is just an empty statement that does nothing. It is a wagging of the finger at someone who has committed serious crimes, not something that will cause them to change their actions.Let them censure him in that case. NOT impeach. No, but congress can still judge their activities and enact punishment... such as blocking him from holding public office again.
It will be yet another waste of taxpayer dollars.

Right. Because threatening to withhold our government's money from a foreign government to get them to do something in line with our government's policy is just the same as threatening to do so unless that foreign government takes an action that has no bearing on government policy, and has no other effect than to personally and politically benefit the person doing the threatening. And I'm sure you know this, but the Obama administration didn't want the prosecutor in question fired because he was too tough on corruption (and therefore a threat to Biden's son), but because he wasn't tough enough (USA Today):
So...no, not "exactly the kind of thing Trump was accused of during his impeachment hearings." In fact, pretty much the opposite.
See, in order to properly do the childish "tit for tat" thing, you need both a tit and a tat. All you have is a tit- and that's tough.

President Joe Biden didn’t take questions, just snapped at a reporter, while we got no answer on:
Rightwards arrow whether Biden will force the Little Sisters of the Poor to provide contraception
Rightwards arrow whether he wants to make DC a state
What about court packing??
Impeachment of the President as a political tool does lead to "tit for tat". Democrats were told this to no avail and here we are.
As long as Biden doesn't mention that the prosecutor he wants fired has anything to do with his son or the Ukrainian company he works for then everything is peachy....I see how that's supposed to work. The folks doing the impeachment stuff are the ones you'll need to convince that there was nothing going on out of the ordinary. I don't know anything other than the appearance of impropriety with these Biden family deals may come back to haunt President Biden.
Of course this could all be Russian disinformation exactly like Hunter's laptop was said to be. No worries.
I have the Long Range Model Y. It's 'slow'. Only does 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. We didn't buy it for the performance, and it does throw you back into your seat (and anything else loose in the car!)
Wife and I wanted an Electric. We have a 'fast' home charger, and we went Tesla because of the supercharge stations.
My friend bought a Model S. He is a real motor head. He's also a cop. He drives hard. He liked the idea of buying an environmentally friendly car, but what sold him was the rocket performance.
