I think there's something like 300 miles of range from a full charge. As I understand it, a full charge can take a significant amount of time with a home charger (depending on your vehicle and setup).

It seems very plausible that an evacuation order could come when someone just got home and their battery was particularly low.

Well, charging time IS a problem. I just don't think exactly evacuation is such a problem. Hurricanes are usually predicted several days ahead, and that seems to be the only thing that could press the range of a modern EV to the limit.

Anyway ... no, the infrastructure is not quite there. There is a chicken and egg problem.

Meaningful tit for tat would be to say "If you impeach my guy for his crimes, I'll impeach yours for his." It is not, as some seem to think, "If you impeach my guy for his crimes, I'll impeach yours for whatever idiotic reason I like." That's not tit for tat, that's blackmail, not only shamefully wrong but shamefully stupid.

Regardless of any other reason why they want him to not hold office, what happened
  • with the riot at the Capitol
  • Trump's speech beforehand
  • his lies about the election after Nov. 3
  • his statements before Nov. 3 about the election being stolen
are sufficient to justifiably impeach him and prevent him from holding office again - regardless of anything else going on.

Lack of bipartisan agreement does not necessarily mean that something is merely political or partisan.

Bipartisan agreement does not necessarily mean that something is apolitical.

If one party withholds agreement to impeach because of partisan concerns, while the other wants to impeach because of facts, to impeach would be based on facts and not on partisan concerns even though both parties do not agree.

According to an article from December, Nissan has sold about 148K here is the US. That would cover roughly 1/5th of the Biden voters in my home state of Kentucky. Everyone else would still be driving a gasoline or diesel powered automobile. So production will need to be stepped up before we can move away from fossil fuels.

I expect the Biden Admin to have some sort of Government backed rebate for purchase of a new EV. And I'm all for it. Currently waiting to see how much the US taxpayer would like to chip in on a new EV for myself.
30% would be nice but I'd accept more of course. I'll need something with a big trunk space to fit in all that free money. :thumbsup:

Don't kid yourself Chris. A major reason people buy the Tesla is the amazing performance. The acceleration is better than just about any internal combustion engine vehicle. It will throw you back in your seat.

I have the Long Range Model Y. It's 'slow'. Only does 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. We didn't buy it for the performance, and it does throw you back into your seat (and anything else loose in the car!)

Wife and I wanted an Electric. We have a 'fast' home charger, and we went Tesla because of the supercharge stations.

Given the fact that Trump did something wrong, enacting punishment is not a 'waste of taxpayer dollars'. It is justice.

No, but congress can still judge their activities and enact punishment... such as blocking him from holding public office again.

Censuring is not punishment. It is just an empty statement that does nothing. It is a wagging of the finger at someone who has committed serious crimes, not something that will cause them to change their actions.

It would not prevent Trump from running again in the future.

Yeah, that's pretty obvious- like most Trump supporters I've known (and living in Mississippi, that's quite a few), you don't know anything more than what you want to know. The information's out there, but it's up to you to look at it.

My friend bought a Model S. He is a real motor head. He's also a cop. He drives hard. He liked the idea of buying an environmentally friendly car, but what sold him was the rocket performance.

I know what he means. I've never been a real car person, but my Y is the fastest car I've ever owned. An SUV with the acceleration of a Sports car. And the S and X are even faster. I think the S with Plaid is sub 2 seconds. Insanity.
