The Biden Presidency

By rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, President Biden indicates he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh. This agreement will do little to affect the climate and will harm the livelihoods of Americans.

Can’t believe The Treaty of Versailles only brought peace to the citizens of Versailles

Biden has replaced the portrait of Andrew Jackson by the desk in the Oval Office with one of Benjamin Franklin.

Florida residents camped out outside gun stores as the Biden administration took office, fearing that the new president would lead a crackdown on firearms.

"I think we all believe Biden is going to take it away from us too," David Godkin, who was lined up outside of Academy Sports + Outdoors in Lake Mary, Florida, on Monday, told Fox 35 Orlando. Customers also mentioned having a hard time finding guns and ammo around the area.

The owners of Academy said people had been lining up as early as 2am outside the shop, which opens at 9am, to buy guns, echoing reports from Volusia Top Gun, another local gun shop with long lines in recent days.

"When Trump had mentioned a peaceful transfer of power, whatever exactly it was he said, seems like it’s been even more crazy than the crazy it was," own Ron Perkinson told Fox 35.

His sales have been up 100 per cent since the pandemic, and up another 100 per cent in the last two weeks.

Looks like Biden could balance the budget by confiscating guns, turning around and selling them back every few weeks or so, at Infinitum.
It's not like gun owners ever learn ...

A tweet so stupid it cold have been written by Trump himself. So is Lyin' Ted really making a play to take over the tarnished crown of Deplorable-in-Chief?

Support for the pipeline in Canada is wishy-washy at best. Of course, support is greatest in Alberta since they stand to gain the most from it. Biden certainly hasn't made any friends there.

That said, oil from the Alberta tar sands isn't all that environmentally friendly. I don't know if it's better or worse than fracking, though.

Would it even be economic now? I understood this was relatively expensive oil to produce and with currently lower prices and no more attempts to obstruct renewable energy from the White House is it ever going to be worthwhile?

Its doubly stupid because the economics of renewable energy and battery storage have been transformed in recent years. People aren't investing in it because its green but because it makes economic sense. Trump's King Canute act (and yes I know Canute was teaching a lesson) with regard to coal is what was going to damage the US economy.

There's usually a run on guns and ammo whenever there's a Presidential election. If the Democratic candidate wins, the panic buying continues on for a while until it becomes clear that gun legislation is not on offer.

This time around is a bit different because there has already been intense panic buying since the start of covid in the spring, rolling into panic buying related to the BLM protests and riots over the summer, and neatly into election season. The online vendors I used in the past for ammo are almost entirely sold out of anything. Ammo costing 3x the normal price sells outs in minutes. Gun selection is also poor and prices inflated.

I do worry about all these new gun owners who bought these things in a panic and don't really know how to safely or competently use a firearm. There have been two separate pictures of rallies showing people open carrying AR-15 rifles that had no sights of any kind installed, which is sometimes how these rifles come new-in-box.

It may stay that way after Biden cancelled the Keystone pipeline...I never considered Biden would start a trade war with Alberta/Canada but here we go!
Heck of a first day in office.

Hey Canada, miss Trump yet? :D

If you took any interest in politics outside your own country you would already know that approval of Trump and his policies was always way, way lower in Canada than it has ever been in your country.

So Cruz thinks the Paris accord is all about the citizens Paris? An ignorant Trump level tweet without question, aimed at ignorant people,

It is expected that a red dot or holographic will be installed these days. There is no need for 'iron' sights anymore although some traditionalists still put them on as a 'backup'

Sure, but the expectation is that the buyer will put on something. Irons, scopes, red dots, anything.

Personally, I'd be a bit miffed if the complete rifle I bought wasn't useable out of the box. Slap some cheap flip-up sights on there at least.

It's also possible these are rifles that people assembled themselves from separately purchased uppers and lowers. Buying a complete upper and complete lower is pretty common these days, and assembly requires no more skill than pushing two pins with a finger. It is much more common for uppers to come without sights because the assumption is the buyer is building a custom rifle and will buy each component separately.

But walking around in public with a rifle with no sights at all is wild. Other than posturing, I'm not sure what someone hopes to accomplish. It would be wildly reckless to attempt to shoot at anything beyond point blank range without sights.

No, Cruz thinks that a majority of Republicans think that the Paris accord is all about the citizens of Paris.

Ted Cruz isn't ignorant, he just thinks (rightly ?) that the majority of Republicans are.

Perhaps Trump should have ended US support of the Keystone project like Biden has in that case. Maybe Trump craved more popularity from Canadians as his reason for supporting Keystone. I suppose that Biden, the most popular President ever elected in history has no such motivation or interest in the Canadian economy. Congrats?

I suspect that none of them worked for Keystone.

So you want the US government to support jobs in Canada rather than in US renewable energy companies? I mean I knew Trump supporters were traitors but this is taking it to another level.
