On the one hand, it is concerning that a company like Twitter controls access to so much public discourse nowadays.
Maybe. But what I find more concerning is that the President of the United States has convinced people that if he can't use twitter he can't communicate. The White House has a press briefing room and he can call a press conference at the drop of the hat and have that room filled with cameras and journalist and people from OANN.
He has normalized microblogging as a legitimate form of communication from a President to his followers. The word microblogging was coined in W's second term. That 140/280 characters is a sufficient format for meaningful communication is still not established. Nonetheless, it is the primary form of communication from one of our Presidents.
That is disturbing to me.
