QAnon is taking its last gasp. The latest breathless proclamation to take them says that Trump "has just signed the Insurrection Act" (there is some confusion as to whether this means he is simply invoking the existing one or has somehow created a new one) and has declared an emergency, supposedly meaning that despite everything Biden will NOT be inaugurated but will in fact finally be arrested, along with all the Democrats and "weak Republicans" in Congress, and that Trump will remain president "indefinitely" until all of these positions can be refilled by non-Democrat replacements and a new, proper election that favors Trump can be held.
Now, this is certainly nothing new for a QAnon prediction, in fact it's basically the same thing they've been saying all along with a drastically shortened timeline. And I'm under no illusions that QAnon's believers won't persist in some form or fashion of delusion after Biden's inauguration. I call it "the last gasp" because I believe it marks the end of the QAnon mythos as such; the fairy tale of the godking president and his patriotic administration who are secretly behind the scenes arranging "The Storm", "Full Disclosure", and so on. Once Biden is inaugurated and his Cabinet begins to be seated, it will be difficult to ignore or explain away the Trump administration's staffers losing access to their offices and departments and thus their ability to even theoretically support "The Storm". The mythos will have to shift to a new story.
That reminds me of a group similar to Qanon about 2000 years ago.
They had a guy they were into in the same way these qnuts are into Trump and they totally thought he was going to change everything. Even when their dude got arrested, they weirdly kept up hope things would turn around for them. But of course, when he was executed, they sort of petered out, and we haven't heard from them since, right?
My point here, is that fanatics don't adjust to the failure of their predictions by accepting reality and walking away, they just keep readjusting their predictions. And they can do that for literally millenia.
