Cont: Trump et al continued “2020 election” conspiracy theories

I guess the nice thing about claiming that "Antifa infiltrators" were storming the Capitol is knowing that you'll never have to back that up with evidence- "they were infiltrators! That means they didn't look like Antifa, they looked like us!"

Kind of akin to the logic used by Kevin Sorbo here (on Twitter)-

Get that? "It wasn't Trump supporters who started the riots, it must have been Antifa/BLM, which we know because we didn't see any!"

Sometimes I wonder if it physically hurts to be that ******* stupid.
I refer you to post #1939

The news just reported a total of 52 arrests related to yesterday’s event.

Thank god they’ve caught those Antifa terrorists - people saying they aren’t violent and yet 52 have already been arrested, there’s no smoke without fire!!

How many more had infiltrated the protest and forced hundreds of Trump supporters at gunpoint to flee into the Capitol for their own safety?

WE NEED ANSWERS

I saw that last night a team of FBI agents went into the Capitol. I certainly hope arrests are coming. I am disappointed more people weren't shot.

I don't want to see anyone shot. I'm fine with arrests for treason or sedition and complete and permanent barring from serving in public office ever again for people like Trump (and his offspring), Hawley, Cruz, etc. Even the senators that eventually flipped should have the same sanctions on them because they spurred the violence on.

Not that it will actually happen, but if any of the 52 are charged with felonies, then can't they also be charge with murder since there were deaths during the commission of a felony?

I believe that most of those 52 were curfew violations, but some of the others might theoretically amount to felony murder.

I'm not the only one appalled by the lack of arrests yesterday, I'm sure.

In a press conference just now, the total number of arrests I was given as 60+. Which I will agree is way too small. If I were in charge, every person being “escorted” from the Capitol Building would have been arrested. The only possible excuse for not doing so is they were prioritizing their mission, ranking the clearing of the building over making arrests. Though the fact that they weren’t prepared to do both simultaneously shows a failure of preparation - we need to find out why they were so unprepared in the face of obvious danger.

On the other hand, the police are circulating photos of the rioters and offering rewards for information leading to any arrests that follow. In two weeks we’ll have a new Attorney General, and let’s hope he prioritizes the arrest and prosecution on any and all involved.

In case he missed it in the other thread:

Hey Bubba, CERTIFIED!
The American voters have prevailed and Lame Duck Diaper Donnie is done, defeated, dismissed and kicked to the curb. Forever.

OVAH!!

The latest number I've heard is 68 arrests. DC Mayor Bowser has been making some interesting statements -- she's not the least bit amused by any of this. She's pushing for statehood plus a lot of investigations. This was a massive failure that must be addressed

At least there's a lot of video and photos of what happened inside, and this should lead to a lot more arrests eventually. I hope so, anyway.

From Jim Sciutto on Twitter:

New: Fed authorities preparing to announce multiple arrests later today. FBI’s digital media team has been combing social media images.

“Just because people weren’t arrested yesterday doesn’t mean they won’t be arrested,” a DOJ official tells me. “No charges are off the table.”

Since we are in conspiracy section anyway... this failure was not an accident. Trump or his cronies deliberately left them unprepared or even specifically staffed Capitol with Trump followers. They let them in and a lot of mingling and chummying up recorderd.

Agreed. This is the same Capitol Police force that was having such fun beating, gassing, and shooting unarmed protesters last summer.

First, I'm not defending the Capitol Police, just trying to explain their actions.

The Capitol Police are a self contained entity who fall directly under the control of Congress. They are not D.C. cops. As such their training is inconsistent, and we saw this yesterday where on one side of the Capitol Building their riot team was beating the crap out of protesters while on the other side the officers caved as MAGA goons breached their poorly constructed perimeter.

Once inside the officers clearly had no idea what to do, and clearly had zero leadership. Obviously there is a huge gap in training, and planning for this kind of event by the Capitol Police command. If you watch the videos it is clear that the officers inside the building are the B and C-Teams. Worse, the Capitol Police were genuinely caught off guard, which means they ignored thousands of warnings about people converging on Washington to do this very thing. This means the Capitol Police command element is incompetent, and ultimately this falls back onto their employer, the US Congress.

To be fair, or to play Devil's Advocate, once inside the mob didn't destroy everything in sight. In fact there is video of them staying inside the velvet ropes of the rotunda. Windows were broken, and the chamber was breached, but let's be honest - had this been an Antifa/BLM raid the building would have burned. So when the cops are outnumbered the move is to de-escalate. The building has good security cameras (at least I hope so), and those idiots also live-streamed their actions on their personal social media accounts which will allow the FBI to roll them up. As it was, the mob left the building without the SWAT teams rolling in, and everyone is left to ponder the day's events.

My personal belief, and this is not based on any evidence, just emotion, is that the Capitol Police took a lot of heat over their actions this summer, and they responded by over-applying the new riot playbook to rub it in their command, and employer's face.

had this been an Antifa/BLM raid the building would have burned hundreds of scary black people would be dead and no one would manage to step inside.

FTFY.

Nope. It was because instead of subhumans of dark skin color they meet rightwing MAGA ubermenshes.
