Trump's Coup d'état.

There is no chance in hell of them overturning the election. Biden will be sworn in on Jan. 20th.

The House is controlled by the Dems and the Senate doesn't have enough GOP who will vote to overturn it either.

Someone on CNN made a good point; If there was any chance this could suceed, there would ba lot fewer GOPers supporitng it;as it is, it's a "safe" way for them to try to get in good with the Trump base.

I think that analysis is wrong. If there was a good chance of it succeeding, we'd see most GOP'ers supporting it. They would love to see the USA under a GOP dictatorship.

Trump is "so disappointed" in the Supreme Court. Apparently he, like me, expected them to simply declare him President for Life. I've never been so happy to be wrong.

At least I hope I"m wrong. It's not over til the fat clown's gone!

Urban Dictionary's Word of the Day: Coup Clutz Clan

The group of Senators, Representatives, lawyers, and others who have teamed up to attempt to overturn the election of Joe Biden in favor of Donald Trump.

I wonder if Marco Rubio is going to join the Coup Clutz Clan?

So, this is how it's going to be....

Not about Trump but related because election 2020 is what might be making this the "new normal".
Trying to get news out of Twitter is maddening.

Pennsylvania Senate delays seating member over last minute election challenge
Pennsylvania state Sen. Jim Brewster, D-Monroeville, who won reelection in November by just 69 votes, won’t be sworn in with the rest of his colleagues Tuesday after his November opponent filed a last-minute challenge against the certified results....

Republican challenger Nicole Ziccarelli petitioned Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman, R-Centre, for a delay on Friday amid her campaign’s federal lawsuit that alleges Brewster’s win depends upon counting 311 ballots from Allegheny County that didn’t include handwritten dates on the outer envelopes. In the Westmoreland County part of Brewster’s district, 343 ballots were discarded for lacking the same information – a fact that Ziccarelli says violated those voters’ constitutional rights.

The state Supreme Court ruled in November it would not apply the handwritten date requirement to the 2020 contest, but Zicarelli says a federal court could overturn that decision and, ultimately, the results of the election in the state’s 45th senatorial district.

Not that this makes the story any better but at least it's more comprehensible than the Twitter version that just makes it sound like the state GOP is trying to exclude Democrats.

This **** still sucks big time but maybe without the POTUS nonsense it would have been a less noticed news event.

Atlanta prosecutor vows to investigate Trump amid backlash over ‘wild’ call with Raffensperger

President Trump could face criminal charges for privately pressuring Georgia’s top election official to invalidate Joe Biden’s victory, a prosecutor in the state said Monday, as another local civil servant blasted the outgoing president’s increasingly “wild” attempt to overthrow American democracy.

Fani Willis, the newly elected district attorney of Georgia’s Fulton County, said her office stands ready to prosecute Trump for telling Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in a phone call Saturday to “find” him enough votes to overturn President-elect Biden’s narrow win in the state.

Ted Cruz is smart. Extremely smart. I previously found people and professors who knew lots of smart people saying that Cruz was the smartest person they ever met.
It's also a widely-held opinion among the cognoscenti that to know him is to loathe him. His challenge is to not let the Trumptrash crowd get to know him.

My prediction of Trump's final days has turned out to be very wide of the mark. That he would never concede the election was a no-brainer, but I didn't expect he would try to hang on, because it would be hard work and could end in undeniable failure. His failure in the election itself he can deny forever, effortlessly.

What I didn't factor in was the voices in his ear from wackjobs injecting themselves into the narrative, putting in the effort, demanding nothing from Trump except random arrangements of catch-phrases such as "dumps", "algorithms", "signature matching", "too much testing" (there's some seepage from other compartments, but not enough to phase Trumptrash), "Dominion" (one to warm the heart of now-sacked Dominionist Barr) and forever on.

It may well end up in undeniable failure, but I'm not about to predict it.

I'm a wimp, and have never "messed anybody up". But I haven't turned around and stuck my nose up their butts, either.
I'm not a physical actor, but social and professional lives can be messed with very satisfyingly. Cruz had a fair chance of messing up Trump if he set his mind to it for its own sake - which I would have. I wasn't brought up to find offence, but I wasn't brought up to let it go when thrust upon me.

With the shades and his beard you can hardly see his face. Which helps. A lot.

I was thinking about “revenge” for Trump’s behaviour. If I was in the “fake news” media I’d try to get every anchor and political commentator to agree to start every interview with “How did it feel being a loser?” And similar variants.

Ted Cruz is smart. Extremely smart. I previously found people and professors who knew lots of smart people saying that Cruz was the smartest person they ever met.

Cruz ran for President in 2016. Cruz said bad things about Trump and Trump said bad things about Cruz. Trump got the nomination and won the election.

I think Cruz has been furious that he is so smart and educated and knowledgeable and capable and has put in so much work only to be beaten by a bumbling idiotic bafoon like Trump.

He has realized that politics requires a certain amount of showmanship and manipulation. He decided he can do that. So now he is doing that.

Although I find everything about Trump repugnant, it's said that, in person, he has a certain charm. He certainly seems to have an attraction for millions of Americans who adore him to the point of adoration. On the other hand, Cruz may be smart, very smart, but he has no charm at all. There is nothing about him that elicits that kind of emotion. I'd say just the opposite. He's oily.
