Cont: Trump et al continued “2020 election” conspiracy theories

Much more importantly: Why do you keep looking for possible anomalies when the election results have been rechecked repeatedly, and no systematic faults have been found? Why keep obsessing about "suspicious" actions when no evidence of fraud can be found? We are not talking about the odd slip, here. We are talking about tens of thousands of votes. Nobody can find any of them.

And there's a classic example going on in this thread right now. Georgia carried out a manual recount which gave the same result as the original machine count; this is conclusive proof that, if any fraudulent transfer of votes took place, it cannot have done so during the transfer of vote numbers from the counting machines to the master count. And yet a certain member is looking into a video that starts from the supposition that this already disproven form of electoral fraud took place, and posits a means by which it could have taken place. This is not about searching for genuine instances of fraud; it's about trying to spread a thin cloth of respectability over a construction of deliberate lies, in order to maintain the fiction that those who've chosen to believe it are operating in good faith. There is no way to end this sort of speculation, because its aim is to support a predetermined conclusion by whatever means, however dishonest, are to hand, and if that means slandering and endangering the life and liberty of someone whose only 'crime' was to participate in the democratic process, that's seen as an acceptable cost. Honesty is a pretence, not a prerequisite, in this search for electoral irregularities, so honest investigation will never quell it.

This reportedly is a mother and daughter. The daughter looks back over her shoulder. Then her mother hands her something over the table. She closes that up into her palm and then leaves.

That could look a bit sketchy. Or maybe not.

To me, when she looks over her shoulder it seems like she is looking at something rather than checking if the coast is clear. Maybe a clock on the wall, or somebody was making some noise, or...I don't know.

The mother doesn't appear to hand over the object in any secretive way. She appears to get something from the side of her chair. Maybe a purse. My best guess is giving her some money for what appears to be a sandwich that her daughter brought her. But it could be chapstick or keys or...I don't know.

If it was a USB drive with election data, it didn't affect the vote count. There was a full machine recount and a full hand recount that verified the votes. Whatever it was, it did not affect the vote count.

Thanks for a reasoned response :)

Indeed.

Trump is getting desperate, slipping into full-on panic mode with only 16 days to go, as he realizes his fantasy of overturning the election result just isn't going to happen, and at the same time, his legal jeopardy is fast approaching.

Watching him fall apart is the best fun I've had on the internet in years; watching his sycophantic supporters twisting themselves into pretzels and falling over themselves to make excuses for him runs a close second.

I'd be having more fun watching if the whole thing wasn't so corrosive to the fundamentals of our democracy.

We will be seeing the effects of this poison for quite some time. I just hope the poison isn't ultimately fatal.

Also, there are no "doors" on the Ellipse. It's a public park.

That caught my eye also. My first thought was that she has never been to the Ellipse and had no idea what it is. Maybe she thought it is a bar or something.

It does have public restrooms. And those have doors.

Maybe she figured everyone could rendezvous there and take a quick pee break before they got started doing protest stuff.

Because of course, if they were involved in voter fraud, they would simply admit it as soon as anyone asked them about it.

And I am sure everyone scrupulously keeps a diary of each and every time they got up from their desk and at what time and for what reason.

If they don’t - well let us just say that would be interesting....

And if they didn't, if they just said, "it was a [completely innocuous object]," the type of person who has made a "weird anomaly" out of someone handing something across a table to someboody else would just stop speculating and say, "oh, ok, my bad."

Oh I am 100% absolutely certain that is what would happen...

I’m off to feed the fairies at the bottom of my garden.

I think that's the point where you're supposed to arrest the "suspect" and torture them until they "confess".

That video is only suspicious if you're looking for proof that the wrong kind of people were counting ballots. If it had been a White mother and daughter, no one would have noticed anything. Someone picked this "incident" because the target audience for the voter fraud lie is predisposed to expect criminality from Black people.

There is no need to discuss, or even respond to, every random video of somebody handing someone something. The election results were rechecked and certified by the appropriate election authorities, and there is no evidence of any significant fraud. Moreover, the people who keep throwing out these videos are not interested in looking at so-called “fraud” in places where Trump won, or even in cases where Trump lost but other Republicans won. This approach is exactly like moon landing deniers saying, “OK, but what about this picture of shadows that look funny to me?” “OK, but what about this video of the astronauts’ motion that looks funny to me?”

The just asking questions approach is fundamentally dishonest; it’s only about casting doubt and trying to get Trump in office again while overturning the will of the electorate.

This. The GOP is working with the premise that a whole lot of really bad, mangled evidence is just as good as a small amount of quality evidence. And the bonus is that their fanatical goons and suckers can say "there's lotsa ev-dense!!! (never mind it sucks)' in social media memes.

That's extremely suspicious. Cash money transfer! A Chick-Fil-A bag! Democrats hate that chicken outfit, cause they are you know, evangelical Christian and anti gay lesbian. Therefore, that is actually 11,780 Trump votes disguised as a Chick-Fil-A bag! The guy standing gets paid right there and he will soon take that bag to the shredder.

I heard from very credible sources that she passed her a piece of paper on which were written the coordinates of the last resting place of Jimmy Hoffa.

How can you certify an election when the numbers being certified are verifiably WRONG. You will see the real numbers tonight during my speech, but especially on JANUARY 6th. @SenTomCotton Republicans have pluses & minuses, but one thing is sure, THEY NEVER FORGET!

The “Surrender Caucus” within the Republican Party will go down in infamy as weak and ineffective “guardians” of our Nation, who were willing to accept the certification of fraudulent presidential numbers!

“We are not acting to thwart the Democratic process, we are acting to protect it.”
@SenRonJohnson

“We’ve seen in the last few months, unprecedented amounts of Voter Fraud.”
@SenTedCruz

True!

So they are going to present numbers? That should be convincing!

(He says they will be real numbers, but I expect that they will be imaginary numbers or perhaps irrational numbers.)

In the video the narrator claims the "2nd handoff" occurred when the guy raises his arms.

Raising his arms lifted his shirt clear of his trousers pocket.

The next claim is that she put something in his trouser pocket. That move is just barely visible.

Those are the claims I heard.

Whatever. No matter. The video assertion really has no legs anyway.

However, pulling cases of ballots from under table for processing after dismissing observers shortly before the (documented) spike of thousands of Biden votes does have legs.

Wednesday forecast: Stormy
