Trump has finally the proof he needs. He tweeted that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's brother works China, and that's "disgusting", and apparently proves something.

The weak defence by people afflicted with TDS is that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger doesn't have a brother.

It does illustrate a legitimate problem, in my opinion. The voter rolls really should be better maintained than that. We have the technology to do better.

I don't want to completely ignore your original point, though, which if I recall was that left wing sources sometimes make the same sorts of bogus claims made by right wing sources. Sadly, it is true. Furthermore, in both cases, people can look at all the evidence and say, with a straight face, that there is no evidence of fraud in the elections our team won. On a more serious note, this latest lie shows how dangerous this man is. He knows that what he said is a lie but he knows his dumbass followers will believe him. Responsible Republicans at the least should call him out on this before he says something even more carelessly stupid that riles his rabble rousers into some senseless action that endangers innocent people.

Or, maybe, doesn't, which is probably more dangerous. A man in a position of power like Trump who chooses to mislead the TrumpHumpers is one thing, and bad enough; a man in that position who misleads himself is worse.

(I'd bet that, by now, someone on his staff has pointed out that Raffensperger doesn't have a brother. And that Trump has responded with something like "a last name like that? Gotta be some relation," because that's how CTs work- the relationship is part of the conspiracy, and is also proved by the conspiracy.)

So much of Trump's conspiracism is reminiscent of the 9/11 truthers, and this is a classic example. Benjamin Chertoff, one of the editors of Popular Mechanics's debunking piece, was accused of being part of the conspiracy because he was thought to be a cousin of Michael Chertoff, director of Homeland Security, who in fact he wasn't closely related to and had never met. Simple-minded people assume that every coincidence is deeply significant, and a coincidence of surnames is an easy one to fixate on.

Because those evil, lying, scumbag (but extremely clever Dems) ingeniously rigged the election using millions of fake Biden votes, not leaving any evidence at all of any single vote that can be shown to be fake - but left a massive, blindingly obvious clue to what they did... yeah, totally checks out :rolleyes:
