The photo from Palm Beach Wednesday night is the first one I have seen of trump where he looked noticeably older, where his appearance seemed changed. Maybe a little bit previously, but of course, he is four years older than when he ran in 2016. Anyway, why would the 'job' age him? What job? Let's face it, no president in living memory has ever spent less time actually working than donald j trump. No, I think what may be getting trump down -- w-a-y down in a way his physical appearance reflects -- is the realization his presidency
is ending. And there is absolutely nothing he can do about it.
Not only does he face the humiliation of being a sitting president rejected by American voters, once out of office he faces severe financial problems, he faces criminal prosecutions. He knows he's made many enemies, he knows a huge swath of the American public despise him. Trouble ahead and few allies, other than the ones he can pay to be allies.
All the business failures he's suffered, the way he always seems to convince himself,
"This time it will be different." But it never really is. I think what has aged him is knowing, this time he screwed up on a world stage. This time it might really be
over.
I hope so anyway!
